It's amazing that there's only 47 days, 20 hours and 40 minutes as we're draft this episode description until Avengers 2 hits the theaters, but who's counting? Welcome to the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse Mashup where the worlds of geekdom/blerdom, politics and current events collide and more importantly, the "uncanny" Daryll B. sits in for the show's entirety. The topics scheduled to be atomized are: Playstation's Powers TV series hit the net and the ubiquitous game consoles last week and we give our impressions; our thoughts about DMG Entertainment purchasing the film rights to Valiant Comics' intellectual properties; just what is all the hoopla over the Apple watch and can anyone below the late Steve Jobs' pay grade afford it?; a few geek incidentals to chop up (TV's Supergirl costume, Preacher casting, SHIELD, Arrow and Flash predictions, Fish Mooney exits Gotham, the Daredevil Kingpin centric trailer) ; Dburt plays devil's advocate (shocker!) regarding credit scores being used for screening job applicants; Chappie and Focus reviews; Univision host compares FLOTUS to a character in the Planet of the Apes (wow); in more #BlackLivesMatterOnlyWhenWhitesAreInvolved news-a young Oakland mother is gunned down while trying to shield her kids from gunfire and lastly, #BLACKBUFFOONERYTRUMPSWHITECRIMINALITY-Dburt notices that the NY Daily News provided a front page spread for a brutal Black girlfight in a Brooklyn McDonalds but the Mafisoso 55 kilo drug bust story was relegated to a small mention on page 10! (continue watching Empire at your own peril, folks). Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

The league also inked an 8-year television deal with ESPN, Fox and Univision to provide MLS fans an unprecedented amount of games each week. The new deal will also effect the schedule at the end of the regular season, and all will be explained on the show.
The NASL is also on the verge of beginning the spring session, and have also added franchises, with more to come on the horizon. The league currently has only 11 teams, and league commissioner Bill Peterson has stated he hopes to see 18 - 20 teams in the league by 2018.
We take the tour of Europe as well, with stops in Italy, Spain, and England, and an honorable mention of German Bundesliga.

Univision to Obama: "You did not keep your promise."
This episode we are joined by noted sociologist and adult industry expert, Dr Chauntelle Tibbals to discuss the Bromance.
Sociologist Chauntelle Tibbals, Ph.D. studies human interaction in and with society, making sense of the patterns and processes she sees occurring in social behavior. Dr. Chauntelle’s scholarly focus includes studies in gender, sexualities, work & organizations, media & new media, popular culture, and qualitative research methods. Her research over the past decade has centered on an extremely varied and volatile topic: the socio-cultural significance of adult content and adult content production. Through understanding both the scholarly/theoretical and real-world sides of the adult entertainment business, her work sheds a fresh critical light on a very influential and highly stigmatized component of our contemporary culture. Dr. Tibbals’ research has been published in numerous scholarly journals including Sexualities, Gender Work & Organization, Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, and Stanford Law and Policy Review and is featured in W.W. Norton’s The Real World (4th ed, 2014). She is quoted and cited extensively by cultural and news media outlets including CNN, NBC News, Business Insider, ABC-Univision, BloombergTV, Huffington Post, Jezebel, Slate, Time Magazine, and KPCC (NPR). Happy Martin Luther King day! LatinoTalk Texas is news issues and interviews impoortant to American Latinos. Today, Martin Luther King Day, I read a piece I published a few years ago in SomosRepublicans.com entitled, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr - Martyr. Today's episode is titled "Immigration Still the Fulcrum in Politics" and I prove that up with several articles detailing how immigration issues still balance the politics in Texas, among Republicans nationally, and in American Latino Politics. Republicans in Texas seek to investigate and immigration status of students in Texas and I state this will result in ethnic discrimination against Latinos in Texas and not all students. This is wrong and immoral and will result negatively against Republicans. Additionally, Republicans are accused nationally of avoiding immigration topics in the upcoming 2016 debates by not allowing Univision to cover their debates. There is more news about Univision as they are in a whopping 96% of Latino homes in America and now, its majority owner, Haim Saban, has formed a relationship with Hillary Clinton and says it is a dream of his for her to become president. Powerful news and I conclude that the Republicans are fooling themselves to think they can win any more national elections without earning the Latino vote. I conclude that even Jeb Bush who strongly favors Latinos and CIR cannot win as a Republican considering that the rest of the Republican party then and still even harder today strives to drive away Latino voters with their anti-Latino legislation in Texas and nationally.
