BLOODTHINNERS”-do they really thin the blood?
It has become common practice to give elderly human, baby aspirin daily for the purpose of thinning their blood.
Now what does it mean: “thinning the blood?”
How can aspirin thin the blood? Well, it does not. What we call blood thinners are medi-sins that prevent blood from coagulating.
What are the side effects of daily aspirin usage?
Stomach ulcers, intestinal bleeding, increased risk of pancreatic cancer, kidney damages, eye damages…
The benefits of blood thinning therapy taken from Dr. Mercola site;
Study Comparing Blood-Thinning Therapies to no Antithrombotic Therapy
• Participants included 279 patients who were diagnosed with heart failure that required diuretic therapy
• Participants were divided into three groups, aspirin therapy, warfarin therapy and no antithrombotic therapy
Results of the Study
• Aspirin and warfarin didn't provide the patients with any valuable health benefits
• There didn't appear to be any substantial differences of incidences of death, nonfatal heart attacks or nonfatal stroke in the three groups of the study
• Patients in the aspirin group had increased chances of experiencing serious gastrointestinal problems
• Patients in the aspirin therapy group were twice as likely as the patients in the warfarin group to face hospitalization for cardiovascular complications, particularly worsening cases of heart failure during the first 12 months following the study
If you want to thin the blood isn’t it normal that you reach for water first?

DON'T MISS IT!
A Missouri State Representative has proposed a bill that would require women to get a notarized signature (no forgeries, ladies!) from the father of the baby in order to get an abortion. Really- a permission slip! And don't think you could wiggle your way out of the requirement for rape. A rape will only be exempted if it is a "legitimate" rape according to the representative. His definition of legitimate? It is reported to police and "proved." Otherwise, prepare to mother your attacker's child. And don't think domestic violence will excuse you from the proposed rules, either. the caring representative says that just because there is violence in the relationship doesn't mean the baby shouldn't be born.
Do you agree? Think this is reasonable legislation? Or are you outraged by this lattest attempt to chip away at abortion rights that have existed since the 1970's?
Rev. Rebecca Turner, Executive Director of Faithaloud, join us to look at the Missouri legislation as well as other political attempts to change abortion rights.
Al Diaz and Ailie Kerr share their insights on Rewrite Your Story with courage; understanding fear.
Saturday, Dec. 20 10am PST
Ailie Kerr is a Registered Nurse with a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training - Healthcare. Ailie's specialties are dementia care, behavioural interventions, violence prevention and personal safety. Her favorite things to teach are brain and behaviour, nonverbal communication, stress management and self-regulation strategies. She is deeply curious about what makes us human; stating "what shapes us, why do I react the way I do and you react the way you do?"
Learning the basics of being human has changed her life. Stating "I thought I "knew" the basics until I crashed into clinical depression and had to use the tools on myself. Learning what my emotions are telling me shifted everything."
It is Ailie's life mission to “Glow and Grow” and share the things that light me up – in the hopes of lighting a spark in others.
