Mountain West media days take place in Las Vegas on July 22 and 23, so to get everyone prepared we decided to preview the event. Not a ton of news comes out of media day so Matthew, Jeremy and Chris predict who the media will pick to win the Mountain and West divisions, plus the offensive and defensive players of the year.
Since no one from the staff can be at media days we go out of our way to pick who we would like to talk to the most from players and coaches. We give legitimate questions as well some off the all one's, too.
Have a listen as we get everyone prepped for the event to signifies football is just around the corner.
Alan (Giants of Jazz Radio) and Jose (Jazz Con Class Radio) are very honored to have with us jazz historian, jazz journalist and author Scott Yanow. We will cover his biography in detail and then concentrate on "West Coast Jazz." We will decipher this sub-genre of "Cool Jazz" by discussing its roots and its history. We will also touch on the 60's Jazz scene in both the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas. Join us, listen and/or call in!
Scott Yanow (Bio):
.....Jazz Journalist and historian. Since then, I have been involved in many projects. Being the Senior Editor for the 3rd edition of the All Music Guide For Jazz resulted in a countless number of my CD reviews and biographies being utilized throughout the internet including Pandora Radio. In addition to having written ten books so far (most recently The Jazz Singers) and writing for the Jazz Heritage Club, I have written several episodes for the popular jazz radio series Jim Cullum's Riverwalk - Live At The Landing.
I have written over 750 liner notes, hundreds of press biographies and press releases, and it has been said that I have reviewed more jazz recordings than anyone in history. I have contributed to virtually all of the major jazz magazines including Downbeat, Jazz Times, Jazziz, Cadence, Coda, The Mississippi Rag, Jazz Forum, Jazz News, The Jazz Report, Planet Jazz, Jazz Now and Jazz
Improv. These days I write regularly for Jazz Inside, Downbeat, Jazziz, Los Angeles Jazz Scene and The Jazz Rag.....Learn More

Welcome to Battle of the Fans. This is how the show works - each week, teams from a specific division will be represented by a fan.
There are 4 "quarters", where fans need to convince the moderator that their team is the best and has the best chance to make a Super Bowl run this upcoming season.
1st quarter - QB
2nd quarter - Offense
3rd quarter - Defense
4th quarter - Overall Team (can include info on special teams, coaching staff, front office, etc)
The moderator will determine how many points each fan receives for each quarter.
1st - 7 pts
2nd - 4 pts
3rd - 3 pts
4th - 2 pts
At the end of the night, the winner will be invited back to the show on July 27 for the fan playoffs. The fan Super Bowl will be held on August 3.

PRACTICE 21: Guiding Principles for Parents! As I was reviewing various articles from my column in the West County Gazette, Listening 2 Children, I came across a list of "Principles to Live By". As I read through them, I realized their importance or parents. Today, I will cover various aspects of how such principles play a role in the life of an adult...a parent. Tomorrow, I will do the same in respect to children.

Join us at 8pm Eastern Time, July 21, 2014 for a good old fashion Bible Study with your host, Isaiah J. West aka "The Hitman" on the "On Target For God" internet radio broadcast as we discuss the Holy Scriptures of the Bible. We will discuss the current trend of those who consider themselves "apostles, prophets, & pastors" of note or reputation who tend to issue death threats over the pulpit and on social media to those who oppose them whether they are believers or not. We'll also look at other unsound church practices as it relates to godly authority. Is this biblical and should you be in fear? Does God Almighty approve of such behavior? What is their reason for doing this? Join us and search the scriptures with us to see whether these things are so.
