Lisa Mills was born in Mississippi and now lives in Alabama. She has been sharing her vocals, for many years, appearing on a Big Town Playboy's album. Her 2010 released, Tempered in Fire, and the world truly found her. Her new album, I'm Changing, is not really a new album, but a reworking of an album she released in 2005. What made her do this? What are her goals? We'll find out when I speak with Lisa.

The Colorado Blues Society needed to raise funds for their Blues In The Schools Program, so they cut an album! Entitled Jam For Blues In The Schools, it was recorded one Saturday afternoon. Behind the direction of Couch Kids, Dan Treanor and Erica Brown, the album was recorded live, one take without any overdubs and turned out awful special. Allen grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and first started playing guitar at age 15. As a teen, Allen was greatly influenced by his musically talented family, which includes his uncle, Grammy winner, Gold album recipient and West Coast Blues Hall of Fame inductee (Guitarist) David "Dynamite" Vega of Graham Central Station fame. Soon Allen developed a powerful blues guitar style, and began appearing at Bay Area jam nights.
At age eighteen Allen joined his first professional band, Jack Rudy and The Blues Voodoo's playing throughout Northern California. They won the west coast "Best Unsigned Band" contest at JJ's Blues in Mountain View. Allen began making a name for himself within the local blues scene while with the Blues Voodoo's
In 1987 Allen formed Smokin' Gun, a powerful blues trio. Smokin' Gun went on to win BAM (Bay Area Music) Magazine's Battle of the Bands, being chosen over 50 other bands. This win led them to opening for such acts as Elvin Bishop, Joe Louis Walker, Edgar Winter, Leon Russell, Lowell Fulson, Lenny Williams, J.J. Malone, Cool Papa, and many others.
In 1993 Allen joined with Frankie Lee (a.k.a. Little Frankie Lee), a noted San Francisco Bay Area soul and blues artist on the road. As bandleader and music director for the Frankie Lee Band, he showed his capacity as he played his way criss-crossing the United States and Canada for five years. He not only showcased his powerful lead work, but he showed his sensitivity while backing a singer and provided leadership while maintaining a high standard of musicianship. Allen's powerful show openers and endless energy-packed finales caught the attention of many. His showmanship, stage presence, and his playing ability reflect the influences of Albert Collins, Albert King and Freddie King.

#MyRealTalkRadio Interviews Singer/Songwriter: Marni Ali
Marnet "Marni" Ali, was born and raised in the Atlantic City, New Jersey Area. Marni discovered her talent abilities around the age of six. She participated in dance, drama, gymnastics, cheerleading & various other activities. Out of all of her talents and hobbies she loved singing the most. She discovered her singing talent while singing around the house and it became her undeniable passion. She performed in local plays and musicals. In her teen yrs. she became very rebellious and chose to live a lifestyle of sex, drugs & murder. She started dating Atlantic City's Kingpin Midgett Molley in 1988/89. She had a wake up call in 1989 when she got into a serious car accident and miraculously survived. Shortly after Midgett Molley was taken into custody & sentenced to 20 yrs. in prison. By 1991 she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Still interested in pursuing her passion to sing and becoming a recording artist she jumped from singing group to singing group and finally ended up with a singing partner. They became an urban R&B singing duo. They signed under "Darkchild Productions" with Freddie and Rodney Jerkins. In 1996 Rodney named the duo the "Shortiz" and they signed an exclusive recording contract with "Def Jam Records NYC". Shortly after that Marni received news that she had a celebrity sister, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas of the Grammy winning group "TLC". Marni & Chilli appeared on the "Sally Jesse Raphael Show" in 1996. In 1998 due to artistic differences the recording contract with Darkchild/Def Jam Records was mutually dissolved.

At the height of his fame in July of 1990, Rick shot and wounded two people in an ill-advised attempt to protect himself against a violent predator. Convicted of attempted murder in the second degree, he began serving his sentence of three-to-ten years in 1991. While he was in jail, he released “The Ruler’s Back” (1991) and “Behind Bars” (1994).
