Inspiration of the Day
“Four short words sum up what has lifted
most successful individuals above the crowd:
a little bit more.
“They did all that was expected of them and a little bit more.”
author of Notes From God
So Now What?
So how do you rise to the top and stand a head above the crowd in any field or customer relationship? Do more than what is expected. Let’s talk about the typical j.o.b.
Most employers pay just enough to keep people from quitting.
Most employees do just enough to keep from getting fired.
This last bit of information is your ticket to success. Do you realize how easy it is to stand out from all the clock-watching, internet-surfing whiners at work?
With that in mind, even if you have a non-fulfilling job, go above and beyond. Do it with grace, enthusiasm, a smile on your face, and not one complaint from your mouth. And don’t fall into the “it’s not my job” BS either.
Do you think somebody is just going to hand you a cool position with creativity and control if you can’t handle the mailroom?
Do a little bit more than the rest and you will be noticed, maybe not by the company you are with, but the best way to advance your career is through networking and if people know you as an above-and-beyond-enthusiastic-go-getter you will rise to the top.
Do more than what is expected and your reputation will precede you into greatness.
You So Have What It Takes.

Please join us as we discuss Mental Illness. "What's on My Mind." With, Ms. Ashley Smith.
Ashley Smith was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2007 after stealing a military truck and leading the police on a high speed chase -- a joy ride that landed her in jail.
"I heard voices. I saw images of people following me that scared me. I thought my life was in danger,"
After receiving treatment for her illness and learning to cope through medication and a strong support system, Smith decided to draw awareness to stereotypes by beginning her own nonprofit, "Embracing My Mind."
Ashley Smith's book "What's on my Mind is available on Amazon, please see a review below:
"Ashley Smith wrote her book according to the format of the NAMI In Our Own Voice presentation where people share their own experiences with their mental health problems. Ashley's experience is very unique and she is able to clearly describe what happened to her, what she experienced (in terms of her symptoms), how her family supported her, and how she was able to get treatment and move on with her life. This is a wonderful guide for people with loved ones suffering from mental illness and those who have a diagnosis. Ashely is an incredible woman whose story will inspire and encourage others to seek help and overcome their own mental health issues.
Please take the time and visit Ashley's blog- http://overcomingschizophrenia.blogspot.com/
Let's take remove the shame and embarrasement that's attached to Mental Health Illness.

My name is Lori Purdy Faitel, I am a Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor. I am your host for THE SCIENCE OF HAPPINESS.I suffered a TBI, when I was 24 years old. As I speak to you I am 52 years old. I was clinically dead 3 times, which makes being over 50 a blessing! Back in the day, everything in my life was a dream come true. I was almost 25 years old, a recent promotion in business which inspired me with dreams for my future. I was attending college at night, I had recently moved out of my parents home for the first time, I had many friends and I was on the fast track to a future of my dreams with the man I had been in love with, for about 5 years. THEN on a beautiful sunny spring morning as I drove on the freeway to my job a construction truck dropped bales of hay onto my windshield causing me to lose control of my car, spinning off the road and into cement construction material. From that point forward my dreams were taken away. I was diagnosed with a TBI, in a mild coma for 7 days and it took about 6 years of therapy and extensive study before I was able to function like an adult again. I understand that the world is not filled with happiness; But for an hour or so lets concentrate on things that help to create happiness. My guest will be Michael Malecki. I met Michael few weeks ago we met on LinkedIn & I knew we had to meet in person. He owns a new company called the M&M Group. Michael told that he has worked with brain injury clients for years, he wishes to build his business with a good reputation of caring.. Read an excerpt from his website - The M & M Group is the company you can trust. Listen at 8PM Eastern Standard Time on September 10th to hear, and answer questions, about working with the brain injured.
LanceScurv & the great Madamwhipass speak on the modern day phenomenon of YouTube Drama & The Trolls Who Love It, they spoke on some memorable incidents that they have either witnessed or experienced first hand in their dealings on the internet.
Most casual internet and YouTube users probably have never seen the depths of decadence that many seemingly intelligent individuals have stooped to indulging in.
In this wonderful medium called YouTube, there indeed lies an underbelly of a cyber red light district where many unfathomable things transpire that would baffle the mind of any sane individual.
YouTube as well as the internet in general has become a place where many can act out in any fashion that they would never think of doing in their regular life as well as attacking those who they may not even know simply because of a difference of opinion.
People will fixate on other people who don't even know that they exist and intrude on their lives through the investigative tools that just weren't available to the public as they are years ago.
This makes the simple act of surfing and commenting on a YouTube video more dangerous than walking through the streets at night on the rough side of town unarmed with a pocket full of cash in large denominations.
If you have any experiences of your own that you want to share, feel free to leave you comments below and let's discuss ways that we can protect ourselves from these disgruntled frustrated people who have no lives that we call trolls!
