    "Break Every Chain" w/Sis Misty

    in Motivation

Peace and Blessings/ Hotep/ Asalam Alakium!

"Break Every Chain" is a program that combats the system of racism white supremacy. We must began to break evey chain of oppression, suppression and depression so that we can unify and build a new reality for the Alkebulan family.

Today's topic is about "Revolutionary Leadership."  We will also speak on our great leaders of Yesterday. Were they successful? Should we use their blueprint in hopes to be free? Why did some slave revolts triumph and others didn't? What are signs and who would be considered security risk in the movement for black liberation and freedom of our people?

    Nashville Presents: Saturdays With Singletary

    in Business

Nashville Presents: Saturdays With Singletary On The Singletary Network With Your Host, Patrenna Singletary!

Saturdays With Singletary Proudly Welcomes Amazon's #1 Best Selling Author, Susan Sherbert!

Susan Sherbert’s passion is helping adults have more fun and feel pure happiness but her writing career started with a book about short sheeting a bed. 4,000 copies of that book were sold to a national linen chain. They used the book as their free gift with purchase two years in a row. She has also written over 50 different original corny joke books plus 5 humor books that are available on Amazon.

Susan Sherbert was a humor columnist for several magazines including one that mixed humor with business lessons. She also wrote a sliver award-winning newsletter of absolutely no importance every month for over twelve years. A lot of that material has been incorporated into her blogs.

Her writing style is a bit quirky because it is intelligent yet witty at the same time – the perfect balance of grown-up information mixed with childlike fun. That means her material is something you will enjoy reading. She has been a business owner for over fourteen years and is an avid golfer.

“I enjoy writing because my amusing style really does seem to make people smile. To me, that is the biggest accomplishment of all”

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 1285

    in Self Help

Tonight's special guest is Linda Dueling from Omaha, Nebraska, a child abuse survivor and active NAASCA volunteer family member. Linda was sexually abused and eventually raped by her Grandpa. This went on until she was about 8 years old. Later, at 12, she would 'fall in love' with a 20 year old who introduced her to IV drugs. At 15 she ended up living on the streets with a boy and they were eventually arrested for 'breaking and entering' when they tried to find shelter. He was sent to Juvenile Hall, but Linda was released to her mother. "Mom slapped and hit me the whole walk home about 12 blocks." She ran away again and experienced a horrible gang rape by a group of 'friends'. Linda says. "I know GOD saved me that night." Linda began using drugs again and meet a boy who would become her husband. "He began hitting me within months," Linda says. "I was beaten daily." It took nearly 2 decades before she joined a church and got clean. For a while things got better. She earned a Certificate in Counseling for Addiction. She built businesses and was seen as a 'success'. "I had over come my addiction and my marriage was now 'healthy' by everyone's standards. Yet I felt dead." In 2008 she tried to take her life. "I was held at the hospital for almost a month. When I left I went into Intensive Outpatient Therapy 5 days a week, four hours a day." In 2010 she'd had enough. "I left for a business trip and never returned home." Her life has improved but she knows she still has a long way to go. She pushes on "Telling this side of my story with out protecting anyone in the process is a new journey."

    Guest: Noelle Meade-Izzi

    in Culture

This is a replay of our show with Noelle Meade-Izzi that originally aired on April 4, 2014.  Noelle is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, speaker, award-winning graphic designer and renowned Natu-journalist. Her book, The Hummingbird That Answered My Heart’s Calling, is a testament to the power of nature and its ability to teach, heal, and re-connect humans to their true human nature.  This gift book is filled with over 40 full-color photographs and a custom designed book cover and interior pages. To her delight, a segment on her experience with Artemis, the hummingbird, was featured in the United States Humane Society (USHS) publication, “All Animals.”  But Noelle’s commitment to nature goes well beyond her work as a Natu-journalist. She is leading a crusade to recognize and protect the four POWER POLLINATORS ---bees, birds, butterflies and bats.  As the Pollinator Queen, she is a special advocate for the pollinators, offering advice on how to build a hummingbird-friendly backyard habitant, ways to “give back” to the bee nation, methods for protecting and supporting these essential creatures that are critical to our food chain.  Noelle’s immediate focus is the bee population which has been decimated by a mysterious die-off not fully identified by scientists. Her goal is to help people see bees for the valued partners they are: harmonious, integrated, unified creatures working tirelessly for the greater good. She unceasingly works to educate as many adults and children as possible, using her company, Beenevolent® as a tool for funding more research; to serve and give back. Noelle perceives the loss of any aspect of nature a spiritual loss as well as a natural one. She spreads her message by Spiritual Pollination.

    in Spirituality

Yvette W. Jones is a native of Virginia. She is a Christian counselor and founder of Freedom Chain Ministries. She is also the Executive Producer and Host of The Yvette W. Jones Show. Yvette W. Jones is married to Wayne Jones, a Certified Christian Life Coach, who has greatly influenced her spiritual growth. She is an alumna of Liberty University and holds a M.A. in Human Services Counseling, specializing in Marriage and Family Counseling. Yvette received her B.S. degree in Psychology with a concentration in Christian Counseling from Liberty University. She also holds a graduate certificate in Criminal Justice and Communications from Liberty University. Yvette W. Jones will release her first book entitled, My Second Wind in 2016.

Yvette W. Jones, an ex-federal and state inmate, discovered the TRUTH that breaks the chain of bondage. After graduating from high school in 1991, she attended a small private college in Virginia and completed her sophomore year in 1993. Shortly, thereafter, Yvette began to explore the offers of the world, gained interest in it, and found herself trapped in the lion’s den. At that time, she was wise enough to know that with every decision existed the reality of consequences. During her federal and state prison sentence, she began to grasp that her life was predestined by God and evil had already been defeated. Today, Yvette W. Jones knows and accepts the purpose and plan God has designed for her life. As a result, she is committed to helping others discover the access code to the pathway of freedom.

Clio Express: A Conversation with James & Jean Jones

    in Lifestyle

In 1953, seven years before the formal launch of the sit-in movement, students from Morgan State College were lining up daily at the lunch counter of Read’s drugstore. There, some manager or anxious waitress would recite the Maryland trespassing statute and ask them to leave.   That was the beginning of the "modern student civil disobedience through sit-ins.  However, in 1947, several hundred Morgan State students demonstrated in Annapolis for equitable funding from the state. In 1948, Morgan students began to picket performances at Baltimore’s Ford’s Theatre, where black patrons were compelled to use a rear staircase and sit in the second balcony.     Ford’s Theatre was desegregated in 1952 after years of relentless picketing. Additionally, thirty-seven Read’s drugstores opened their lunch counters to blacks in 1955. Four years later, the protesters forced the desegregation of the chain of Arundel ice cream shops. And, the die was caste for the Civil Rights contributions of Morgan State students which brought James and Jean Jones together in their personal involvement in the movement.    James and Jean were childhood neighbors who metriculated through the educational systems together and eventually built a family and life together.  A great look at what happens in the trenches and the lives of civil rights warriors.
