There are a lot of diseases – bacterial, viral, protozoal, parasitic – that have started to spread out of their normal range lately. One example of this are the some of the illnesses that immigrant children and adults are found to be infected with, along the border of USA and Mexico, during the border crisis we currently find ourselves in there.
Tuberculosis, dengue fever, cholera, body lice and other diseases or health care issues are being seen both in this population as well as along the border in the “Colonias” that are the shanty border towns on this side of the border. In fact, the first case of chikungunya virus (mosquito borne) has been found in Texas as well. In this part 1 podcast, Sam Coffman will discuss several of these tropical and unfamiliar diseases that are debilitating (sometimes leaving life-long health concerns) or even fatal.

Laura Ashley is a brand new charming sensation that promises a powerhouse in country music. There is nothing fake about this 20-year-old country girl who is full of life, passion, and a hankering for adventure.
The music scene began early for this dirty-blonde spitfire. As a small fry, Laura would often scurry off to the horses to sing them a tune or two. The great outdoors was her everyday stage.
Though Laura has devoted many years to classical vocal training, her true sass and joy comes out best when she’s belting it with a twang. A two time All-Stater in voice, Laura sings in church and at weddings. She recently decided to follow her dream of performing and writing country music. Music is part of her daily life whether practicing, performing, or writing she pushes on to go farther.
Though Laura is just beginning, she has already been blessed to sing backstage with artists Randy Houser, Thomas Rhett, Lauren Alaina, and Phil Vassar. Laura’s love for country music runs deep. With her love for wide open spaces and her remarkable little red horse, Lil' Bit, Laura is a true cowgirl. Heck, she's even ridden her horse to work on several occasions! With her authentic country background, anyone can see that her music is real!
So if you’re ever in their hometown you just might see Laura Ashley and her horse galloping across green fields with a sense of fierce freedom trailing behind them in the wind. And if you’re quiet you might hear a country song echoing off the golden Ozark hills. Laura has tucked her country voice inside all her life... until now. There’s a promising future for this cowgirl with big vocals and her little red horse!

SHOW NOTES: This HELP! Situation™ series addresses challenges, obstacles and problems (real or perceived) that are preventing a person from surpassing their goals! What is holding you back from surpassing your goals? In this episode we examine the issue, "I Keep Getting Fired From Jobs! What Should I Do?”
Why are you fired?
Be honest. No excuses and/ or rationalizations. I have been fired (several decades ago when I was working minimum wage jobs in food service and retail). I was fired due to my soft skills (attitude). I was always asking questions and trying to "improve" things. My job was to carry out the established processes and procedures and not to try to reengineer and change those established parameters. My desires to enhance and modify practices are fantastic assets as a business consultant. They were not the right skills for those jobs. I either needed to change my skills or change my job ( or I would keep getting fired).
Hard Skills - The content of the job itself.
Soft Skills - The skills that are required to be able to deliver the job requirements (time management, organization, attitude, self discipline, etc.).
What do you want?
Decide how you want to work (indoor, outdoor, day shift, night shift, on a computer, not on a computer, alone, with lots of other people, etc.). You may be unemployable (and need to be a contractor or entrepreneur).
Only you will be able to make the best decision for yourself.

We can use bells, drums, music, singing bowls, and more to energize and renew a room’s energy, clear stagnant energy, and create an uplifting and healing space.

JOINING us today is Gretchen Engbring, our extraordinary partner and fellow LRFF board member. Gretchen arrived in Costa Rica at the end of April 2014 to learn what's happening "on the ground" at La Reserva's headquarters in Costa Rica. Today we have invited Gretchen to co-DJ our show and give you all a BIG UP about her experiences here for the past 3 months.
Coming to you live from Costa Rica and brought to you by the La Reserva Forest Foundation (LRFF). We invite you to participate in this most interesting and interactive show by calling in or participating in the "green" chat room. LRFF is working to solve climate change and lost resources by restoring the tropical forests in the "lungs of the world".
Climate change is our continuing topic. It's being caused by human activity not volcanoes, solar activity or a universal conspiracy. This is a platform for everyone to tell us your views on cc, ask questions about this most important issue. The majority of people are very uninformed about cc because it has become unmentionable in the mainstream media. Talking about it is the first step to solving it.
As always great roots and culture music plus interesting Caribbean news and events.
