    in Music

    Show # 322

Shaun Murphy returns to The Couch to share her latest release It Won’t Stop Raining.  Shaun has brought the Blues out in full-force on this one.  We’ll talk about the making of this album and plans are in her future.

Peter Karp has released The Arson’s Match, a live concert in NYC where his long-time friend and collaborator Mick Taylor participated.  The result is something incredibly special.  I’ll speak with Peter about his career…and where he is headed in the future.

Jeff Chaz sat with us during the IBC Preview shows this past January and he has just released his latest album, Sounds Like The Blues To Me.  We’ll delve deeper into Jeff’s history and play music from the album.

Sandy Carroll released Last Southern Belle back in February.  It has a more country flavor about it, so I never received a copy.  When I found out about the album I reached out to Sandy and scheduled this return.  I told Sandy, doesn’t matter what some call it, if it is Sandy Carroll music, it belongs on The Couch.

Calvin Murphy Talks Houston Rocket Playoffs; Astros Slow Start; & Brandon LaFell

    in Sports

The Houston Rockets are back in the playoffs. In fact, many would say they backed into the playoffs. At any rate they are in and facing the historically good Golden State Warriors in the first round. Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy joins us to talk about the matchup and what the Rockets need to do to win.

In other NBA news, Kobe Bryant ended his career in high fashion by dropping 60 points on 50 shots against the Utah Jazz. What’s your best Kobe Bryant memory? And…who is your best Laker of all time?

The Houston Astros are 3-6 in this young 2016 season, but there is no reason to panic just yet. The Stros will be fine, hopefully sooner rather than later. In football news the Los Angeles Rams made a deal with the Tennessee Titans for the #1 pick in next month’s draft. How will that affect the rest of the league?

And finally, Bengals Receiver Brandon LaFell joins us to talk off season football, his training routine, and his upcoming camp in Houston.

All of this and more on this week's "ChalkTalk!"
