Conversation with Trent - "The Difficult Conversation"

    in Self Help

When we ask people for their opinion and invite them into our situations are we really serious about getting unadulterated truth? Are we mature enough to objectively listen?

We tend to prolong difficult conversations out of fear, anxiety or just hoping the situation or them will mysteriously go away.

When this doesn't happen it only hurts us and them. So how do we have the conversation?

Join Lisa and I Friday as we help take some of the mystery and fear out of what needs to be said and heard.

America's Education Classic with Dr. Trent Grundmeyer

    in Education

Join us during the 2013 Drake Relays for a live radio interview with Dr. Trent Grundmeyer, Iowa's Secondary Principal of the Year,
The Educational Relay - America's Education Classic
As the recipient of the 2013 Iowa Secondary Principal of the Year Award, Dr. Trent Grundmeyer continues his journey (educational relay) to transform education. This recognition added to his recent acceptance as an associate professor in Education Leadership at Drake University, represents two more 'legs' of his passionate relay to transform education.
Ironically, Drake University is known for the 'Drake Relays - America's Athletic Classic.' Unknowingly, Trent has begun his own version of a relay classic called 'America's Education Classic' by proactively transitioning to key leadership positions across the K12 and higher education space.
In 2006 Dr. Trent Grundmeyer became a transformational high school principal in the State of Iowa. As one of America's youngest and riskiest principals ever hired, (age of 25), Trent immediately went to the heart of the needs of students by blending his passion for students with their love of technology. Under Trent's leadership every freshman had a laptop issued by one of the poorest and most diverse high schools in Iowa. Rather than have the students turn off their smart phone during opening day orientation, Trent encouraged them to leave them on, and used them as an instrument of empowerment to engage with the students.
