IT Life Radio: Get Rid of Annual Reviews

    in Technology

Almost anyone who has gone through an annual review knows they can be a pain. If you're lucky, you've got a good relationship with your boss and you get a raise and maybe a couple of tips for a better performance. If you're really lucky your annual review isn't a surprise, because you talk regularly with your manager and get good feedback.

But what happens if you don't have that relationship? One review every year is like asking someone to drive a car on a highway and they only get to look out the windshield every 10 minutes. Business changes every day. Our responsibilities and priorities change every day. Why should we only get feedback once per year?

BetterWorks Co-Founder and CEO Kris Duggan thinks there is a better way. We should treat feedback as a daily, low investment, high frequency endeavor. Instead of slaving away for days on one annual review, we should rely on current technology to do small course correcting feedback every day. Duggan will stop by to talk about a better way for managers and employees alike that will make everyone happier and more productive. Learn how to:

Reshape the way you give feedback
    Treat feedback like a Fitbit
Get more out of employees and be a better a manager

Kris Duggan is the CEO and Co-Founder of BetterWorks, an enterprise goals platform trusted by high performing companies to engage, empower and cross-functionally align their work forces. Prior to BetterWorks, Kris was the founding CEO of Badgeville which provides gamification and social engagement solutions to help companies measure and influence behavior. He has a master's degree in business administration from University of California, Irvine. He received a patent for customizable rewards systems in 2011 and wrote and published "Business Gamification for Dummies" in 2013. He currently resides in Palo Alto with his wife and two sons.

Daniel Chait, CEO Greenhouse Recruiting Software

    in Jobs

    @DHChait -- @Greenhouse -- About.me -- Company

We're not really into talking about Recruiting Technology on The Recruiting Animal Show but I heard a guy from Greenhouse on @DriveThruHR and he seemed to know something about recruiting as opposed to software so I invited him to come on this show.  He said he'd get back to me and the next thing I know his company was shoving this other guy in front of me. I could have rebelled but I figured, "Hey, I'll trust them. They wouldn't send me a bore, would they?". Well, yeah, they probably would but I've got a feeling he isn't so let's see what he can do. My research shows that he's already been interviewed by everybody but me -- and the Animal Crew

Business Strategies That Help CHRO’s Sleep At Night

    in Business

The TalentCulture #TChat Show is back live on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at its new time from 1-2 pm ET (10-11 am PT).

Last week we talked about how improving the candidate experience empowers a better workforce, and this week we’re going to talk about business strategies that help CHRO’s sleep at night.

Industry experts and the media always talk more about what keeps business leaders up at night and less about actionable strategies that enable positive change and help them sleep.

Let’s try and change it up a little, particularly for heads of HR state. Change isn’t easy, especially when being applied to solve business problems, but new HR initiatives are important, organization-shifting moments for a company.

When CHRO’s and their business leader counterparts consider a change for their organization, those who think beyond the ordinary get a sustainable outcome.

Join TalentCulture #TChat Show co-founders and co-hosts Meghan M. Biro and Kevin W. Grossman as we talk about business strategies that help CHRO’s sleep at night with this week’s guest: Mark Stelzner, Founder of IA HR, a consulting firm that helps HR leaders transform their organizations with confidence.

Thank you to all our TalentCulture sponsors and partners: Dice, Jibe, RecruitiFi, TalentWise, Hootsuite, IBM, CareerBuilder, PeopleFluent, Silkroad, Predictive Analytics World for Workforce and HRmarketer Insight. Plus, we're big CandE supporters!

GoodRx Saves Consumers -- and Employers -- $ on Pharmacy Expenses

    in Health

When GoodRx first came up on CoHealth's radar in 2012, the company's co-founder, Doug Hirsch, described the mission this way: "We want to mimic companies like Orbitz and create prescription-drug-price transparency so consumers are informed and can afford the medications they need."

Since then, GoodRx went on to win awards and accolades for its consumer-friendly interface (including CoHealth kudos for helping one of your co-hosts save $40 on a Rx). The company has also grown its services to include a transparent PBM for employers, a GoodRx plaform for physicians, and even a GoodRx search for pet pharmaceuticals.

Join us to find out what's good about GoodRx for you and your employees.
