A Message Of Hope For The Hopeless Part 2

    in Christianity

Have you ever felt like giving up, quiting and walking away? After all, I must admit that sounds like the easy thing to do doesn't it. When you feel you can't go any further or a or stick it out any longer, we must ask ourselves questions that will lead us back to a place of hope, faith and an unwavering trust to almighty God. For example, if I give up now, what will I miss out on? Who or what  am I trusting in to bring me through such difficult and dark trials in my life? Is there anything that I can learn from this trial or suffering? We must ponder on these kinds of questions because they will help us see the big picture and keep us from feeling a sense of hopelessness. The pain of loss and waves of despair are just too much to bear along. Proverbs 13:12 says this," hope deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."For some of you going through a difficult marriage or potential divorce, battling addictions you just can't seem to shake loose from or just listening to the wrong voices who speak hurtful words to you, listen carefully, God is not through with you yet, and  He loves you more than you'll ever know. This is a Message of Hope for the Hopeless.

  • Hive Mind: Reflections of Culpability and Change

    in Entertainment

Yeah so we are doing a social studies unit on our ancestors. We’ve done some version of this for as long as I can remember…more than 15 years? The students are asked to talk to family, interview relatives, make a family tree, and identify one of their countries of origin. (You know…not the U.S.A. unless they are indeed a Native People of this country)

Ok. So, our units are language rich and it’s my job to come up with some of the daily vocabulary. There I was picking words: ancestor, traditions, relationship, immigrant…hmm…immigrant…

So, all of a sudden I am thinking…for the FIRST TIME …because white privilege…SLAVERY.

I have had Black students. None this year, but usually I have a child with ancestry that very very likely includes slavery. And it’s never occurred to me to deal with this. Sigh. Well, there it is. And here we are.

I was debating whether to enter this word into the Google doc all the other teachers at my grade level will access. I was thinking they won’t like it. They will object. They’ll question my judgement. They’ll think it’s inappropriate. I was afraid. This is uncomfortable.

Now, I am of the mind that when something bothers me, it’s time to act. It means I know the right thing to do and I’m afraid.

Right then, one said colleague walks in and we talk. We are much more like-minded. I tell him about it. He affirms its validity. This helps. I decide. I do it. SLAVERY is one of our words. It is right between immigration, emigrate, migration, and refugee. Even if the other teachers might not utilize it, I will. It needs to be discussed outside the context of Black History. This is family history. This is the history of my students. Even if they aren’t Black…

The Sphere of Tiphareth - Sphere of Beauty

    in Radio

On Thursday October 8th, 2015 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the Sphere of Tiphareth, the sixth sephrioth on the Tree of Life. Tiphareth is called the Sphere of Beauty and is the center of the Tree just as the Sun is the center of the Solar System. It is the hub from which all the paths radiate and the downward reflection of the light from Kether. Mythologically it is the sphere of the dying gods, Osiris, Ba'al and Jesus, and thus the point of mystic transformation and enlightenment. Raphael is the presiding archangel and an agent of healing. Again our texts will be Dion Fortune, Gareth Knight and John Michael Greer. So join us for for an hour of inspiration as well get to the heart of old Adam Kadmon. Exam question: "How many kabbalists does it take to screw in a light bulb?" Tune in for the answer.

    Live A Magical Life

    in Spirituality

We are told from early childhood that success in life equals money. From that point on, it’s a mad scramble to acquire as much money as possible. The two most common approaches are to choose a good career or develop your own business. But no matter what career path you pick, you end up paying tons of money in student loans and working long hours to make ends meet. And those who start your own businesses most often find themselves investing their life savings—only to end up working 12 hours a day to get the business off the ground. Meanwhile, Better Business Bureau statistics tell us that most businesses fail within their first three years of operation.

What they fail to tell you is that instead of chasing the dollar, you should instead be chasing power—spiritual power, that is. With knowledge of magic, you can literally manipulate reality to bring about total and complete abundance. Keep in mind that spiritual power should always be your unlimited goal. If you live your life worshipping money, all you ever have is a piece of paper. I call this the “money deception.” But if you have magic, then anything and everything is within your grasp.

Did you know that your money in the bank is nothing but binary numbers? And that the ruling elite could zero your account out instantly if they wanted, leaving no trace of it whatsoever? This is why most billionaires must play ball or their billions will be taken away.

But to a master magician money means nothing—because he or she is free to do anything and doesn’t need to depend on money as a means to an end. So join, Master Qesankh Maa Kheperu as he reveals his secret to “Living a Magical Life! “

On Air With David Duane w/ R&B Recording Artist: Avant & Luke Christopher

    in Music

Avant is a name that has been used in the context of being original or innovative but the singer/songwriter from Cleveland has transformed the word into a powerhouse brand. Since breaking out on the music scene with his first platinum hit singles, “Separated” and “My First Love”—he has been on a non-stop journey having released seven albums in the last 15 years.

Avant has toured with some of the biggest names in the R&B world from Joe, Jagged Edge and Keith Sweat. He is preparing for the new album release, The VIII in September 2015. This spring he released the debut single from the album, “Special” which is romantic song that breathes new life into love and commitment.

Luke Christopher isn’t about to wait around for anybody. Instead of relying on singers or producers, the Los Angeles rapper can belt out a hook with the best of them, and he remains an accomplished producer and beat maker in his own right. On his two new EPs YSTRDY and TMRW for ByStorm Entertainment/RCA Records, his singular vision only starts to unfold, encompassing airtight rhymes, cinematic storytelling, keen wit, and a little bit of wisdom.

Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, music surrounded Luke. At a young age, his father turned him on to the likes of Elton John, U2, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder. However, hip-hop found him one Christmas when 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me sat under the tree. In high school, he converted the bottom bed of his bunk beds into a makeshift studio. There, he taught himself how to rap, sing, and compose beats. By his seventeenth birthday, he was ready to be properly heard, and major labels clamored for this strangely soulful and emotionally expansive style.
