SORT BY Relevancy
Spiritual issues come up for everyone as they heal from trauma. To divorce one’s spiritual questions from the healing process leaves survivors with huge gaps in their recovery. One of the things most survivors ask at some point is “Where was God?” and, rightfully so.
IF God is real and all powerful and you believe in the idea of a good and loving God, WHERE was He when you were being abused? It is a question worth asking and one that deserves some honest conversation. Join host, transformation coach, spiritual director, and thriving survivor, Misa Leonessa as she shares about finding God in the midst of trauma healing.
In todays episode we go to the heart of the matter. Love is all there is. We have heard and spoken about it. But most of us hurt our heart because we are afraid to love ourselves. In order to heal, we have to look at the story we tell ourselves. When our heart fails we experience lung and heart issues, breast and back problems in the thoracic region of our body. Let us look at how to heal from the emotional level.
We are born on the planet in drama and emotional struggles. Our first moment is a painful struggle for our mother and ourself. This impacts us severely. Without knowledge, our childhood journey will follow us into adulthood creating mental, emotional and physical disease.
Sonia Nadina Haynes takes you on a journey of reflection and healing to change your unconscious story. She helps you to heal in a powerful way. There is a well known fact among those who have managed to heal and liberate themselves from their trauma with great resiliency. A common thread is that they all converted post-traumatic stress into post-traumatic growth - the idea that one’s trauma can actually be a source of strength and resiliency, rather than just pain and suffering.
It also happens to be something that humanity has practiced for as long as it has existed.
It’s a life practice that is not very easy to digest at first in a society where we expect life to be pristine and perfect. But once acknowledged, it can provide measures of strength and resiliency that you never thought you had and (this is the hard part) might never have found had you not faced the trauma you faced. When you face the fiery gates of hell that your trauma has led you to, no doubt you burn with pain and suffering, but in that raging heat, the inner steel in you cures and toughens. It becomes far stronger than it ever would have been had you not gone through that experience. In today's podcast we explore the idea of post-traumatic growth...
We're back with yet another day in the life of the happiest guy...my name is Sri. I'm a healer, wannabe writer, failed activist turned stand up comedian, and aspiring mama elephant. And I can't stop talking...
Testimonies of our prayer receivers who were healed of trauma caused by sexual experiences in the past. These experiences may have been as common as "playing doctor" as a child or as complicated as repeated sexual and physical abuse. They may have been raped, ambushed after school or harrassed by same sex attractions and may not have sinned in any way. Would you know how to pray to break the trauma of a wounding sexual experience? To restore the victim's God given purity and sexuality? How to pray for the guilty party who used another to meet their sexual needs? How to pray for the parents of the one in sexual sin?

This is definitely a not to be missed episode.
What is trauma and what are the best interventions? What are the triggers and what are the solutions? Duane Bowers returns to Shattered Lives Radio to discuss these questions and more. Listeners will learn the importance of trauma informed care and why its model should be used by advocacy agencies, law enforcement and individual victim service providers. Bowers will also bring us up to date on his current projects.

What is your attachment style? On today's show we will describe the different relating/attachment styles: Secure, Anxious/ambivalent, Avoidant and Disorganized; and how there's a spectrum, from minor/mild to extreme/rigid traits of each style.
By knowing the different attachment styles we can better understand ourselves and others. Knowing a partner's relational style helps us to really 'get' them and better meet their needs.
With this knowledge we also can learn the origin of our limiting beliefs; and with this awareness help us to heal.
We will also discuss being 'triggered', what this is exactly; how our unresolved childhood patterns can create reactions in the present moment which are not an expression of our authentic selves.
Mirror neurons and how they help to explain why we grow up to repeat what we witnessed our parents doing.
We will touch on practical ways to resolve these unhealthy patterns, such as somatic therapy, so that we can have fulfilling relationships and be our real selves.
