Today we will hear from Dr. Jifunza Wright, a Holistic Family Medicine Doctor. For the past twenty-five plus years Dr. Wright has been on the giving and receiving end of caregiving. She has taken care of many caregivers, during their childbearing years to supporting them as they aged or began to care for the elders in their lives, and many times both. As a Family Medicine Practitioner, she knows the importance of the caregiver giving and receiving care graciously as we navigate through the many cycles of life one will experience. She will explain why as caregivers, we must be willing to take care of ourselves.
Join us today as we explore Self-Nurturing techniques that can help make the difference between a caregiver being effective in caring for their loved ones or not.
My Co-Host Dr. Rachel Lindsey and I invite you to join us today and every Tuesday 12:30-1:30 PM CST.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement,
Deirdre J. Burrell, DAOMc, LAc., Mind/Body/Spiritual Life Transformational Coach

A frequent media guest and popular lecturer on Influence, Leadership and Personal Branding, Maura is a next gen thought leader inspiring others to become their happiest and most authentic self. Turning her vocation into an entrepreneurial business, she’s just released her first eCourse entitled, “Foundations of Happiness”.
Ebie Andrew - worked in the healthcare industry as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for more than 20 years.
In that time I have worked in hospitals, nursing homes, outpatient clinics and in home health. I spent 6 years in Skilled Nursing Facilities and spent 3 of those years as a Rehab Director. That is where I learned quite a bit about how the type of care provided drives the profit. I spent the last 12 years working in the Home Health industry. Each year my visits became longer, with my first visit often taking over an hour as I educated my clients in not just physical therapy, but how to manage all the different demands of their healthcare needs. It was during these visits that I became painfully aware of the lack of education available to the general public on how to manage their healthcare. As the speed with which the industry continues to change increased, I came to realize how crucial this information was to each person I interacted with.
Lance Loya has a passion for teaching people to be good teammates! He is the author of two books—the popular children’s book Be A Good Teammate and the newly released Building Good Teammates. Although Loya has spent most of his coaching career at the collegiate level, he has worked with players at nearly every level of basketball. His youth basketball camps are some of the nation’s largest and attended by several hundred players every summer, popular with aspiring players becasue of the emphasis on teamwork. Campers are reminded daily that good teammates care, good teammates share, and good teammates listen™.
A former point guard at Garrett Community College and the University of South Carolina-Upstate, Loya garnered a reputation for being a “coach” on the court and true student of the game. As a player, he earned Academic All-American honors, and went on to earn a Masters degree in sports management. He is presently the all-time most winning basketball coach in Mount Aloysius College history. Though innovative in his coaching techniques, Loya's philosophies are still deeply grounded in a strict adherence to fundamentals, discipline, and good sportsmanship, which he instills in players. Loya is two-time recipient of the Schoenfeld Award for sportsmanship, character, and ethics, presented by the Collegiate Basketball Officials Association (CBOA). His players have also been recognized for espousing these same values, Loya was a radio morning show disc jockey. His public speaking skills have allowed him to become a sought-after speaker at schools, banquets, and various other corporate and civic functions.

Why don't you think Americans care about soccer the way the rest of the world does?
Imagine a work environment where you are literally in "eat or be killed" mode, and something as important as your paycheck is involved. This doesn't lend itself to a team spirit environment.
Today's guest, Kristin Sunanata Walker, CEO of Everything EHR says: "What I see in organizations where leadership has created a toxic work environment is the prevalence of health issues from mental decline, eating disorders, anxiety, PTSD, etc."
"Like the toxic village elder that wants no children to go to school lest they become smarter than he or she, narcissistic leaders keep their staff in an ever rotating position of ambiguity, gaslighting, love bombing, and paranoia. If anyone other than the leader shines too brightly this results in massive narcissistic injury. A beheading is commonplace and the longer the staff continue on in this environment the harder it will be for them to leave. They do take on the traits of their leader and live in a sheltered yet grandiose bubble of superiority on a ship of fools."
Today Kristin will discuss, among other things, what she refers to as the characters in the Narcissistic Leaders game: The cheerleader, the star, and the doldrums.
Kristin Sunanta Walker is the host of Mental Health News Radio and Mental Health After Dark. Her company everything EHR is dedicated to working within the Behavioral Health technology space helping vendors and mental health organizations create and utilize incredible tools for excellent patient care. Her book Emotional Impotence will be released in early 2017.

Your elderly father's memory is failing fast. Your increasingly frail mother just took another fall. Whatever the situation, The Eldercare Consultant can provide the knowledge, support, and encouragement you seek.
Weaving together real-life stories with the essential information needed to make the best decisions, this compassionate and practical guide helps you: spot warning signs of physical and mental decline; recognize when a loved one needs assistance; determine the level of care needed; evaluate the options - family care giver, home health care, palliative care, senior housing, assisted living facilities - and select the right one.
It supports you to discuss the issue with your loved one; understand and manage the costs of care; make the adjustment as smooth as possible; and avoid care giver burnout. Author and eldercare expert Becky Feola knows first-hand that caring for someone who is no longer in complete control is hard...and the decision to seek outside help is one fraught with emotion.
