    Left Turn and The Dialogue

    in Politics

1st hr. 'Left Turn w/ Stewart Alexander'
    2nd hr.'The Dialogue'

On 'Left Turn with Stewart Alexander', Bob Maschi, writer and social activist, returns!
Under discussion:"The Real State of the Union:
As most of us expected, President Barack Obama delivered a great State of the Union Address; however, beyond reading a great oratorical SOTU speech, how much substance was actually in it? We will also discuss where the Obama administration has fallen short and where the president has delivered (or not) on his promises over the past six years. Bob Maschi always delivers!
In 'The Dialogue., Karen Christine Patrick and Ruthann RA Amarteifio discuss the B.I.G. idea from a historical perspective. (Basic Income Guarantee)
Reminded last week of the visionary legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr., we learn that King advocated some kind if Income Guarantee. His advocacy for this solution to poverty is in the last book hewr ote before his death, Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? (New York: Harper & Row, 1967)
An article about King's final wise words about an income guarantee are found at http://www.progress.org/banneker/kingsay.html and King states, "The problem indicates that our emphasis must be two-fold. We must create full employment or we must create incomes. People must be made consumers by one method or the other. Once they are placed in this position, we need to be concerned that the potential of the individual is not wasted. New forms of work that enhance the social good will have to be devised for those for whom traditional jobs are not available."

    Liberty GB Radio ~ Manifesto

    in Politics Conservative

Welcome to Liberty GB Radio with your Host, Tim Burton.

Liberty GB will address all the political issues Great Britain currently faces, something the three main parties (along with UKIP) so conspicuously fail to do.

The Liberal Democrats, Labour and Conservatives manifestly refuse to discuss the most important issues of our time, namely mass immigration from the Third World, the steady rise of fundamentalist Islam and the hijacking of traditional British culture and institutions by well-organised left-wing 'progressives'.

There is no guarantee at such a late stage that Britain can be saved, but Liberty GB will endeavour to put a stop to our rapidly accelerating descent into economic, educational, moral, cultural and social ruin. Britain could be a wonderful country again, but it will take politics bordering on the revolutionary to achieve this vision.

If you are of similar mind, Liberty GB welcomes your participation.

Send Tim to London to represent Liberty GB in the General Elections

    OTTOS KANSAS COFFEE BAR

    in Politics

Hear Rep. Bill Otto and "the Lineball Sisters" discuss all manner of smalltown life in Kansas in the second hour after these news stories.

    Program Summary: 26 Jan. 2015

    Counterspin (30 min.)

Description: This week on CounterSpin: After the State of the Union address, one paper's headline was "Obama Pulls No Punches," but another said the speech consisted of "modest proposals," while a third deemed it "A Bold Call to Action Even if No Action Is Likely." What's the public to make of this exercise in political theater and the media's morning-after tea leaf-reading? We'll talk with journalist and activist Keane Bhatt.

Free Speech Radio News (30 min.)

Description: President and Prime Minister of Yemen resign in apparent coup by Houthi rebels; Austerity measures take center stage in Greek elections; Boko Haram claims responsibility for major attack in Nigeria; CIA whistle-blower case goes to jury; Pennsylvania governor’s inauguration draws opponents of fracking; U.S. Supreme Court hears state judicial campaign financing case; #ReclaimMLK actions vindicate King’s legacy of civil rights protests.  Also on the show: A proposed Pennsylvania law aimed at silencing Mumia Abu-Jamal targets our right to hear as much as his right to speak. Why aren't more journalists up in arms? We'll talk to one who is: Daniel Denvir, senior staff writer at Philadelphia City Paper.

Co-hosted during the second hour with Rep. Bill Otto, formerly of the 9th district, in the Kansas legislature listen in to conversations with "Traditional Republicans" who have lived small town life in Kansas across the generations.

Show #99 - Making Strategy Social (Social Engagement Sub Group Stream)

    in Business

Special Guests: Steve O'Neill, John Smythe and Charelle Wigley, members of the Social Engagement Subgroup

'Making strategy social' – is a work stream within the ’Social’ sub group of Engage for Success. It wants to make explicit the best ways and means to blend social media and face to face dialogue to devise and execute better strategy. Crowdsourcing the experience, insight and knowledge of employees as well as leaders adds value to strategy design and delivery - in what might otherwise default to a traditional 'top down' process.

The small steering group behind this work stream wants to create a product that will help capture what organisational leaders - 'the C suite’ - needs to think about in making strategy development and implementation more ‘social’ in orientation - both in mindset as well as use of technology.

Join us as we discuss what this work stream is focusing on and find out how you can get involved.

Sunday Morning Divine Service - Lamb of God Lutheran Church Papillion NE

    in Christianity

9 am Sunday morning Divine Service for 1/25/15. Traditional liturgy and law gospel sermon. Pastor Bagnal’s sermon. Gospel reading Mark 1: 14-20. “Fishers of men” from today’s gospel gets abused and usurps the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says, “Repent and believe in the gospel...I will make you fishers of men.” However we are the fish - not the fisherman. We are not the instrument of God’s grace - the Holy Spirit is. The gospel is at work in us. We are the fruits of God’s word.
