Whither the Family Medical History? As a family fanatic in a "Families Only" practice, I love the FMH and use it daily- over and over again. It's rich and useful and ever changing. A JAMA Viewpoint will be the stimulus for my comments.
Food: It's killing us and saving us at the same time. Get a fork! is one of my current dogmas. Is it that simple? No wheat. More nuts. More forks.?
I'm still having fun in practice. I may be somewhat delusional since the walls are moving in with IT and EMR's everywhere. I do fear the loss of my voice as a Family Physician. I comment on my blog about the Voice of Family Medicine.

Join Us As We Discuss The Unedited Truth About Sex
In a sex-saturated culture where kids are exposed to nearly 14,000 sexual references per year on television, and 70 percent of teenagers have encountered ography on the Internet, parents can't rely on the traditional one-time "sex talk" that their own parents muddled through. Kids need to know that it's natural to be curious about sex and that their parents are the most reliable source of information. Otherwise, their friends and smartphones will be more than willing to give answers that are likely to lead them down the path to sin and heartache.
· Is hooking up really wrong?
· What about living together if you fall in love?
· If the Bible bans sex before marriage . . . is everything else fair game?
· What about same-sex relationships? Since when does God deny any kind of true love?
Great questions . . . but who has the answers?
Our culture creates a lot of confusion about sex. Honestly, sometimes it's difficult to know who's telling the truth. On one hand, when we read our Bibles or go to church, we hear how God's design is to wait for sex and save that kind of intimacy for marriage. But on the other hand, when we go to school, turn on the TV, or listen to many of the songs on our favorite playlists . . . they say quite the opposite. Naturally, this makes many of us wonder. Who's right? Sex seems fun. How can something so natural be off-limits?
In Jonathans new book Sex Matters, Jonathan McKee tackles all of these questions, giving you the frank, unvarnished truth about sex--regardless how awkward or embarrassing.

Mercy for Animals
The Plight of Farmed Animals
Over 95% of the cruelty to animals in the United States occurs at the hands of the meat, dairy, and egg industries which confine, mutilate, and slaughter over 9 billion land animals each year.
Despite the fact that these are the most abused animals in the United States, they actually have the fewest number of advocates. That is why it is so important that we stand up and become a voice for the most defenseless.
Published on Mar 14, 2015
A new Mercy For Animals undercover investigation into a poultry supplier to Gordon Food Service—the largest private foodservice distributor in North America—has exposed horrific cruelty to animals, including baby birds violently slammed into metal shackles before being painfully shocked with electricity and having their throats cut open while still conscious and able to feel pain. Holiday History: Cinco de Mayo, by Co-host, Chris Morales
Show Topic: With long term addiction, comes learned behaviors that become instinctual. One of treament's many goals is to replace those negative (destructive) instinctual behaviors (or reactions) with positive and constructive ones. Is this possible? Yes. This of course, is not, an overnight process, so we will have some MAYDAY calls due to some severe C.A.T. experiences (what is that you say? We'll explain).
