THIS IS A PRE-RECORDED MESSAGE SO OUR CALL IN LINES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE
Our traditions are not necessarily bad in and of themselves. When we advance a beloved belief or tradition to the point of rejecting a brother or sister in Christ we have gone too far. Thus the greater harm may be our practices more than our beliefs. But, how sound are the peculiar beliefs of our denomination of choice?
On Thursday January 16th, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon
will present a discussion on the ancient Phoenicians and the Hermetic
Tradition. This follows last week's review of "Jesus the Phoenician" by Karim el Koussa. The references for this evening's discussion will be the recent "Phoenician Secrets" by Sandford Holst and "The Phoenicians,
the Purple Empire of the Ancient World" by Gerald Herm, Our focus will
be on Phoenician contributions to, and influence on, Western occultism
and magick. It has recently been established that the Phoenician culture is one of the oldest in the world. It's roots go back nine thousand years. The
Phoenicians were building and sailing ocean-going ships long before the
Pyramids were built. The first pyramid was built by European architects
brought from Malta to Egypt by Phoenician contractors. The Phoenicians
were very secretive about their business and their religion. We will discuss their astrological religion (the Labors of Hercules), their magical alphabet (the real origin of the Qabalah) and their possible connection with Atlantis. So, if you want to voyage with the Purple People on ancient seas, tune in and we'll hoist the mainsheet.
Returning to the show we have Laurelei Black, author, independent scholar and practitioner devoted to Aphrodite, sharing with us her findings on Sacred Courtesans, past and present. Laurelei is interested in how we apply the ancient wisdom and service to modern thought and practice. She will give us insight into interviews she's conducted with modern-day courtesans as she's delved into what training they've undergone, what rexources or support they have (and lack) and what their service looks like in a practical sense.
Crossing the threshold tonight, Jhenah Telyndu will discuss Avalon and the Avalonian Tradition taught by the Sisterhood of Avalon, a Celtic women's mysteries tradition which takes inspiration from the enclaves of holy women found around the Celtic world. Existing in tandem with druidism, these traditions served different cultural purposes - learn more about this living tradition and it's ancient roots!
TONIGHT, ON THE DR C ROBERT JONES SITUATION REPORT
8 TO 9 PM TONIGHT!
On September 11, Bruce Ackerman, a Yale professor of law and political science, had an opinion piece published in the New York Times fittingly titled "Obama Betrays the Constitution".
Ackerman describes how Obama has broken with the "tradition" of presidents abiding by the Constitution as well as betraying the majority of Americans who twice elected him to the highest office in the land. But why are we surprised at his "betrayal" and break with with "tradition"?

Below, is an excerpt from a blog I wrote a while ago.....
He whips me up by my belt buckle
Pulls me to him forcefully
Nothing sexual about the move
Primal anger in his eyes
Looking him square in the eyes...
I say under my breathe
"You don't want to take it there!"
I knew the blow was coming
Or so I thought...
What say ye to this barbaric act?
