  • The Tracy Marx Show - Was Jesus Really Born of a Virgin?

    in Christianity

In this Christmas episode we find that Matthew 1:18ff tells us that Mary was a virgin when Jesus was conceived in her.  Can that really be true?  Or has Christendom been spreading fairy tales for 2,000 years?  Dr. Marx addresses the virgin birth of Jesus and how some, including Bishop John Shelby Spong, have reduced it to nothing more than a myth.

From Grace to Red Shoe Courage: Part 4 Reality

"What we produce is what we believe in." ~ Tracy Worley

"Your beliefs about yourself and your world create levels of expectation. Expectations determine attitudes,  and attitudes determine behavior |what you will or will not do.”

Excerpt: "Grace came from a new reality without my permission and without God’s permission." ~ Tracy Worley

Do you experience walking into the next room and forget why you went in there? When we experience this, we discover that our focus is lost. Losing focus from walking into the next room, meeting, or a new situation in life and ask ourselves “Who am I, and why am I here? Personally when I experience this I put my hands on my head and say “who am I , and why am I here” outloud as I just know if I do not hold my head vital information will ooze out of my ears.

Digging a little deeper we lose focus by letting outside influences, thoughts and emotions hinder our initial purpose or passion. Our passions are truly our purpose and vice/versa. Our passion and purpose is where we find our given gifts, strengths, and personality strengths.

As I sit here visioning you listening to his right now, this message is merely by mercy given and grace received. Through mercy, given grace gives me the courage to follow my purpose and heart’s desire. And I hope the same for you too.

The first step in finding our gifts, talents and purpose is to devote time and energy to what we love doing. When we spend time in our gifts we are creating the genius of our individual self.

The Roots of Christmas & Jesus

    in Politics

For most of the Free World, Christmas is a holiday season celebrated more for its shopping, overeating and gift giving than the actual religious significance it once contained.

The season is represented by silver and gold adorned trees, as well as colorful twinkling lights spilling over homes, churches and businesses.

Family and friends exchange gifts, kiss under mistletoe, burn Yule logs and yet, sadly, most people have no idea where the Christmas holiday traditions come from, but they swear that it is all about Jesus.

The Christmas holiday as we know it is really an aggregation of a bunch of mythology and customs that were actually around before the birth of Jesus. And, the actual birth of Jesus has been placed somewhere around September.

Tune in to The Bridge Radio on Sunday as we discuss the Christmas traditions and how they became merged with Christian traditions.

Discuss The Roots of Christmas & Jesus with Host Darryl James and Co-Hosts, Tracy Powell, Marcus Legall III, Dr. John Hamilton & DJ Gates on one of the smartest radio shows on the Internet--The Bridge Radio.

Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) - 989

    in Self Help

SPECIAL TOPIC Night - "For Our Kids" - Deborah Maddison, and Tracy Baxter, Canadian activists from British Columbia, will lead this evening's discussion about the Rights of Children and Families in North America. They'll present the topic "Mass 'Murder' by Family Court." Joining them will be advocates Anthony Brasher, Vincent Shiele and Vernon Beck to discuss the tragedies and failures of the Family Court System. The epidemic of systemically being abused by family courts has caused many injured individuals to take their own lives, or sometimes the lives of others. In fact, thousands are attempting (or succeeding) at taking their own lives in desperation every year. As a result of the system's failures, an incredible 79% of people involved in the Family Court System report experiencing some form of health injury, whether physical, mental and / or emotional. We will be discussing some of the horrific cases of suicides and murder-suicides that come out of our structurally violent family court system, and how, at so many levels, these tragedies could have been prevented. We will also hear from special guest Ashlee White Blandford, daughter of Darin White, from Prince George, British Columbia. His suicide in March of 2000 was a huge eye-opener to many, highlighting the brutalizing effects of our Family Court System. ~~ Every two weeks a new THEME will be presented in this series, with frequent special guests speaking from their own experience. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/ForOurKids or write to: naasca.forourkids@gmail.com

    Wanda's Picks Radio Special

    in Art

Today we have an opportunity to speak to playwright, Julie Hébert, and cast members: Susi Damilano and Carl Lumbly. TREE, directed by Jon Tracy, has its Regional Premiere at the San Francisco Playhouse, January 20th to March 7th, opens January 24, 2015.

Winner of the Pen Award for Drama and Backstage Garland Award, Tree is the story of three generations divided by race, culture, and time. The play has contemporary resonance, posing questions about family and what it means to “be related.” “I set out to write a play about race and ended up writing a play about family,” said playwright Julie Hébert about Tree. “About the inescapability of family, of being known over time, of recognizing yourself in others, of continuing relationships after betrayal and suffering. We keep each other honest. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes painful – and so it is with this play.”

The story explored in Tree unfolds when a southern white woman shows up at the home of an African-American man in Chicago and claims to be his half-sister, impelling them to confront a shared past. In their search for the truth, they must navigate the fragmented memories of the man’s aged mother to discover where their roots intersect.
