Toyota has unveiled their new 2015 Toyota Camry and a number of journalists were invited to attend a special ride-and-drive event at FC Dallas soccer field in November. Long-time automotive journalist ALAN GELL was on-hand and during the day, had a special one-on-one interview with BRIAN WILLIAMS.
Brian Williams had conducted the 'walk-around' for the journalists earlier in the day, explaining all the differences in the new model compared to last year's model. Brian is with Product Sales and Engagment at Toyota headquarters in California.
Toyota first introduced the Camry in 1983 and has sold over ten million of the small sedans. This 2015 model has an all-new exterior using all re-designed sheet metal panels -- except for the roof.
The RAV4 SUV has been popular for a number of years, but the combination of Toyota’s Sport Utility Vehicle with a battery operated powertrain makes it special. The RAV4 EV is a collaboration with Tesla Motors, who designed and produced the battery and electric powertrain.
The new Toyota RAV4 EV provides a quiet, comfortable, and smooth ride with easy handling, due mostly to the low center of gravity as well as a low coefficient of drag. The front bumper, grill, side mirrors, rear spoiler, and the underbody were all re-styled to provide the new sedan-like ride. The battery pack is mounted near the center of the vehicle and very low.
Noted automotive journalist ALAN GELL recently attended a special media Ride-N-Drive at the FC Dallas Toyota soccer stadium. Toyota was introducing their new Camry, Sienna, and Yaris. One of the special guests was PHI PHUNG. He is the Customer Sales Manager for Harman Automotive, specializing in the sound systems for all Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
Harmon Automotive specializes under several audio name plates, including AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon, Revel, and Mark Levinson.
Alan and Phi discuss the newest innovations and systems installed in the new 2015 Toyota Camry. The new Camry has an all new exterior, except for the roof panel. The front end is more muscular and bold in appearance.

Technology in today's world is much, much different than it was just 20 years ago. Having a portable phone was a luxury for the well-to-do and for innovative businesses. Using a computer meant having to sit at a desk, either at home or an office, while connecting to something called the World-Wide-Web. Today, technology is part and parcel of almost every aspect of our lives and that includes our automobiles.
New cars, with all their new-fangled gadgets and gizmos, were 'unveiled' and introduced at select Auto Shows such as Detroit, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles. That was how journalists and the public 'saw' what was to come in the near future and what new technology could be found on the new wave of automotive products. But this approach is changing, and changing fast. The Consumer Electronics Show, called CES, is quickly embracing the automobile to be as much a part of the show as the home, the office, and other areas of our lives. There were several 'Concept' cars introduced, which are usually reserved for the major auto shows.
