    2012 Toyota RAV4 all-electric SUV

    in Automotive

The RAV4 SUV has been popular for a number of years, but the combination of Toyota’s Sport Utility Vehicle with a battery operated powertrain makes it special.  The RAV4 EV is a collaboration with Tesla Motors, who designed and produced the battery and electric powertrain.

The new Toyota RAV4 EV provides a quiet, comfortable, and smooth ride with easy handling, due mostly to the low center of gravity as well as a low coefficient of drag.  The front bumper, grill, side mirrors, rear spoiler, and the underbody were all re-styled to provide the new sedan-like ride.  The battery pack is mounted near the center of the vehicle and very low.

2015 Toyota Camry - interview with Brian Williams

    in Automotive

Toyota has unveiled their new 2015 Toyota Camry and a number of journalists were invited to attend a special ride-and-drive event at FC Dallas soccer field in November.  Long-time automotive journalist ALAN GELL was on-hand and during the day, had a special one-on-one interview with BRIAN WILLIAMS.

Brian Williams had conducted the 'walk-around' for the journalists earlier in the day, explaining all the differences in the new model compared to last year's model.  Brian is with Product Sales and Engagment at Toyota headquarters in California.

Toyota first introduced the Camry in 1983 and has sold over ten million of the small sedans.  This 2015 model has an all-new exterior using all re-designed sheet metal panels -- except for the roof.

Westchester On the Level with Narog and Aris

    in News

“Driving Me Crazy” automotive review columnists Johnny and Laurie Wiles translate their written banter to radio with their inaugural debut Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10am.  We’re thrilled to welcome John “Bugsy” Lawlor, the recent “Technical, Spiritual and Menu Advisor” of NPR Radio’s immortal “Car Talk” radio show with “Click and Clack,” Ray Magliozzi and his late brother, Tommy. Also, Win Morrow, a young auto tech who has all (or most of) the answers on how and why a car or truck works and John and Laurie Wiles, who go by the handle, “Married couple in their sixties talk cars and manage to go to bed without being angry.” So, tune in (if you can) or catch them on demand. Meantime, you can read their column on ThePilot.com and the Yonkers Tribune. In fact, they’re launching their radio show with the Toyota Highlander and the Chevy Trax. And last but certainly not least, check Ted Natt’s swell article on the new radio show on the ThePilot.com.

Richard Thomas, Mount Vernon City Councilman, joins the program at 10:30am. He’ll discuss the most recent discourse at Mount Vernon City Hall.

Hezi Aris pivots onto the international news scene for the final hour of our broadcast day.

Talking In Circles: 20 Drivers in Last 20 Years, Money over Talent

    in Sports

On this episode of Talking In Circles we discuss an interesting article from NBCSports.com Dustin Long. Long wrote about the best 20 drivers in the last 20 years and our hosts will debate these 20 drivers. Who was too high? Who was too low? Who was just right?

Also an article on Racersguide.com by Pete McDonald explaining the harsh reality that money is more important than talent in the auto racing world and what can be done to try and make that less of a problem in racing.

Also, the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend. It's the first night race of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. Texas is a fast track and a mile and half track, the type of track that makes up the majority of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. Has Toyota gained on the compeitiion or will Hendrick Motorsports/Stewart Haas Racing still have a strangle hold on those type of tracks.

Plus John Harlow from BeyondTheFlag.com joins the show to bring his thoughts and he's always a treat.

Also we're looking forward to your phone calls 917-889-8280.

Talking in Circles: Martinsville Review; BIG TIRE PENALTY

    in Sports

On today's episode we talk about a sad anniversary in NASCAR.

After that we'll review the STP 500 @ Martinsville Speedway. Denny Hamlin  gives Toyota their first win since Talladega last season. We need more short tracks. What a fun race. We'll give our attaboy/girls  and our disappointments.

Also, the big story of the week is the P5 penalty for the #31 team for Richard Childress Racing. Crew chief, Luke Lambert has been suspended for six races, and placed on probation through December 31st. Interesting take that Clayton has on this as to what RCR's next move should be; also, is it time to change the way NASCAR penalizes teams in this sport?

And our team report cards. Usually, every break in the season, we give team report cards, and today we'll give ours after the first six weeks.

Qualifying at Talladega has changed, of course, only the 457th change in qualifying. Is this the best way? Is there a better way?

Also, John Harlow from BeyondtheFlag.com will join the show to discuss multiple topics with us; and that's always a treat.
