Noted journalist ALAN GELL was among the media last week at the Texas Motor Speedway. It was the annual Spring Roundup conducted by the Texas Auto Writers. Journalists took test drives of over 50 vehicles on the track, off-track, and around the outer loops around the location.
One vehicle of note was the 2014 Toyota Camry hybrid, which was competing in the Green Vehicle category. Gell stopped during a test-drive and recorded an interview with RICK MARTINEZ. Rick is the Car Model Line Manager for Gulf States Toyota.
Our test-drive car was the SE model, powered by a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine. It was painted Attitude Black, Dark Charcoal and had a bottom sticker price of $29,045. The EPA rating was 40 mpg.
Guest: Frank Burke, businessman and contributor to American Thinker.
We will discuss two big business and economic stories of the past week:
1) Toyota moves to North Texas and brings a few thousand jobs. What does a major company look for in a relocation move? Why was Texas a better place to do business than California.
2) The latest employment report shows a drop in the rate but more people continue to drop out. Is it good news or are we kidding ourselves?

Automotive Journalist ALAN GELL interviews MICHAEL KROLL during a Media-Press event for the new 2014 Toyota Tundra. Michael Kroll is with Product Communications for Toyota Motor Sales, USA. The special event was held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in and around the Teton Mountains.
The 2014 Toyota Tundra has been re-done. There are five (5) grades, new safety features, Premium interiors, three (3) engine choices, and three (3) cab configurations.
The five model "grades" are the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794. The 1794 is western theme with wood and leather. The name comes from the date of the original Spanish Land Grant given to the ranching family that kept it in their family until it was sold to Toyota for the location of the Tundra plant in San Antonio.
The new 2014 Toyota Tundra has a starting base MSRP of just $25,920, but goes upwards to exceed $47,000 for the 1794 edition.

After 50 years Toyota Motor Company is leaving the high tax state of California for the low tax state of Texas. Politicians in high tax states can't believe such things happen, but in the real world this is exactly what happens. Next, the truth is out about the phony Obamacare numbers. Want the the real number, just deduct 1/3 or divide by two. Finally, Detroit's post-bankruptcy plan is coming into focus. Is it a matter of too little too late?

Countless TV fans fells in love with Jackée Harry as the hilariously sassy Sandra Clark on NBC’s 227 and Lisa Landry on The WB’s Sister, Sister. But having fun is just half of where it’s at for the comic icon. “I didn’t aim to be on TV. It happened by me studying and auditioning,” she tells Fresh Perspectives Radio host—and fellow Sister, Sister cast member—Rolonda Watts. “I was a history teacher and I wanted to be a great educator. My goal was to impart information to young kids—particularly young girls—to give them self-esteem and awareness when they go out into the world. I went to Long Island University, Brooklyn Center—right across from Junior’s,” adds Jackée, who works closely with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and United Negro College Fund, while currently appearing in two sitcoms, Byron Allen’s The First Family and Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World. “I had a four-year Martin Luther King scholarship. I was a straight-A student. I was a brainiac! And after school I worked for the National Association of Black Social Workers. Then I did plays at night.”
