On This Day: Jurgen Klinsmann Goes Diving

    in Soccer

Daryl and Taylor revive the "On This Day" feature of the Total Soccer Show to discuss Jurgen Klinsmann's famous goal-scoring celebration. On August 20, 1994, the then-Tottenham Hotspur forward mocked his growing reputation for diving by... well... doing just that, hurling his body to the ground following a lovely header against Sheffield Wednesday. The celebration had roots going back at least 4 years, and perhaps even 50, and would prove a hit with players in both England and beyond.
