Sister Minerva welcomes Dr.Tisa Muhammad to *All Walks of Life *

    in Culture

Family please tune in as Sister Minerva welcomes Dr.Tisa Muhammad to *All Walks of Life*, Dr. Tisa in her own words: ?I was born "Tisa Philippa Farrell" on a warm Wednesday morning in August in the unique city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, ?There,I was nurtured and raised in a very strong, loving and close community of people of all walks of life, all interested in uplifting and serving our people, and bringing in a world where all may live in peace, prosperity and unity... ? Of the many invaluable lessons I have been taught, one that I have never forgotten, and as such, pattern my life after is what I was once taught by one of my many mentors, Dr. Sheila McKenzie, that a "Physician" is defined as "a natural Philosopher who teaches their patients (clients) how to heal themselves..." ? I am a Doctor of Natural Medicine/Homeopathic Medicine with a B.S. in Orthomolecular Medicine and an A.S. in Physical Therapy.  I am Certified as a Clinical Iridologist and a Certified Holistic Healthcare Consultant. Most recently I was trained in the NADA technique in Acupuncture. ? To put it simply- I am a Womb Worker, a Womb Wellness Consultant and a Womb Warrior- working daily to heal myself in order that I might assist all women with keeping and healing their wombs, as we collectively heal our families, our communities, our world and ultimately this beautiful Wombniverse!~?  I have been honored to work with various healers including, but not limited to, Dr. Llaila O. Afrika, Dr. Leelamma Nielsen, Dr. Sheila McKenzie, Queen Afua, Dr. ChinzeRa Kahina, Tisha Mecham, Queen Maasht Am Amen, Yirser Ra Hotep, Talmie de Shimadai to name a few... ? ??Lastly, the greatest of my accomplishments thus far has been to be a mother of seven children, and the greatest of my studies has been to that of the lesson of life. ? Currently I am focusing on establishing my music, and writing books designed to bring about a greater change in the lives of others.

Interview with Braiden Turner of Blackwell

    in Music

BLACKWELL returns to radio with their latest single called Welcome To The Country which has already became a huge favorite when the band performs live!

BLACKWELL is a vocal trio led by singer/songwriter Braiden Turner along with singer/songwriter/guitarist Carey Blackwell and brother Dan Blackwell. All three are from musical families. Although Braiden is from Ottawa, much of her life has been spent in the small towns of southern Ontario where her family is from. Carey and Dan are from Northern Ontario where they began their musical lives

“Small town Ontario gives us the perspective of everyday people just like us” says Braiden, “We know how they think, because that’s how we think…and we can relate to them and they can relate to us! We’re all really very proud of our roots".

What else that all three have in common is their love of vocal harmony, original songs, the richness of their roots and their desire to showcase their brand of originality. Carey is also adamant that Braiden be featured out front and that he and Dan play supporting roles.“That’s where we feel comfortable” says Carey, “Braiden is the perfect vocalist and personality to lead BLACKWELL to where we want to go. She’s creative, determined and has so much energy it’s scary!”

    Interview with Jamie Warren

    in Music

Country artist JAMIE WARREN lives in Kitchener-Waterloo, but was raised in Hanover Ontario, where he pursued an adolescent dream of playing hockey professionally in the NHL, with music as a background distraction. When he realized that his natural abilities for singing and playing guitar might make it easier to attract the attention of girls, he hung up his blades. It was a logical progression for a sensitive guy who wrote poetry and short stories throughout his high school years.

His interest in music was likely genetic, since his mother sang and played piano, and his father played guitar and mandolin. Jamie had piano lessons at age 5 and guitar lessons at age 8, and by the time he was 10 years old, it was traditional for the Warrens to entertain after Saturday night euchre games in their smoke-filled basement. His earliest influences were whatever his parents listened to on the radio, and the only thing his parents radio seemed to play was country music. To this day, he’s still a huge fan of Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline.

Eventually, he began an association with producer J. Richard Hutt, who produced “Right Here Right Now” and all of Jamie’s previous recordings, but who initially engaged Jamie as a singer for jingles he produced out of his Kitchener-based CedarTree Studios. “I didn’t have a clue what I was doing” says Jamie, “but Rick had a lot of patience”. In 1993, Jamie was convinced that both radio and Nashville might have relaxed enough to make room for him again, and he released “Fallen Angel” on River North/Mercury Records, which yielded an enduring fan favourite and radio hit, “One Step Back”. There were many more hits to follow for this talented Canadian artist.

Tune in for stories & songs from Jamie on this episode of In The Country.
