CFL Roster Expansion taking place on October 2nd. At this time every team will expand their Practice Roster by 5 Import Players. While on Practice Roster, players are free to return to the NFL at anytime should they get an NFL opportunity. In the event they’re offered an active roster spot, and accept it, they will have to commit to a minimum of a 1 + 1 contract. In order for us to identify the right players we have decided to run several Free Agent Camps across the United States. These camps provide us with an opportunity to physically test players and evaluate if they would be a fit for our brand of football. The wide field, the 20 Second Clock, and the 3 down brand requires speed and mobility. There is a cost associated with running these camps and we do charge the players. In order to save players time and money I felt it was important to let you know that we’re looking for speed. If a player can’t run he will not be a fit. We will not be signing the following players: Tight Ends, Fullbacks, NT Types, or kickers unless they can do all three. Our current roster if full of players that have been identified in this manner and we look forward to working with agents to help us repeat as Grey Cup Champions. Upcoming camps; August 24 Sunnyvale CA August 30 Charlotte, NC
T.J. Williams former Michigan State receiver is now Canadian Football League experienced cornerback. Which shouldn't be a problem since his older brother is Antonino Cromartie. No longer in the CFL, Williams played for the Toronto Argonauts last season appearing in seven games, with five starts, this season and recorded 11 defensive tackles and two interceptions. Williams is 6'1 and 195 pounds with NFL pedigree. He was in rookie minicamp with the New York Jets as a receiver last year, and this spring gives this talented under the radar prospect another chance to impress. MSL NFL analyst and co-host of The Andrew Powell Show, Eric Robinson, gives his predicitions for each division, through the playoffs and all the way up to the Super Bowl! It's gotta feel good to be a citizen of Toronto! You have Drake, the Raptors got better and the Blue Jays are making power moves! Former Auburn Men's Basketball player and current SportingNews and Sports Illustrated employee C.J. Holmes joins the show! The guys debate... Who are the top five greatest rappers of all time? And the guys also poke fun at MSL's and SCU and Wally's host, Stephen Ur, after a caller puts him in his place and after he contradicts himself with one of his "bold predictions". And is this the worst batch of presidential candidates we've ever had? If the guys could pick anybody they wanted, who would be their choice for the President of the United States? PLUS MORE!!! You can call into the show at (929) 477-1592 and you can tweet the show @andrewrpowell and @ThePowellShow. Are you ready for some football? Well, be sure to stop by the "House" on Thursday evening beginning at 7 pm for the annual NFL Round Table program, featuring discussions and predictions, on The Frat House Sports Show #203.
The guys are looking across the entire NFL landscape as training camps open and all 32 teams have high expectations for the 2015 season. The off-season was far from quiet for many teams, players and NFL executives however, and the discussions touch on some of the more notorious stories and scandals, as well as which franchises appear to have made improvement "on paper". Is your team positioned to move up or head south? Be sure to weigh-in with your thoughts, too.
Yep, the optimism at this time of year is palpable with some "new" coaches, young rookies and vested veterans signed up and preparing to throw down for at least the next 22 weeks. Of course ... not everything is smooth and not everyone is happy as news of suspensions, fines and appeals continue to bring negative attention to the "shield". Roger Goodell "the enforcer" can't seem to get out of his own way and his decisions continue to appear arbitrary at best, or wholly misguided at worst.
Also, the fellas find 20 minutes or so to explore recent stories from NHL & NBA headlines, including how realignment could look with 8 divisions of hockey (really?), why did Lou "leaf"? and Adam Silver's 'elite 8' concept for hoops playoff action in '15-'16. Get in the "House" and give 'em a call to: 347-826-9964.
Today we're going to talk about the craziness that is the MLB Trading Deadline and the trades that happened and didn't happen. Also, Training Camps for the National Football League have begun. Let's see what the Ravens and other NFL teams are doing. Join me, Rob McQuay, and my co-horts, Geoff Cowles and "Philly Jeff" Dyer as we delve into these juicy topics! Today at 5:00 EDT. 323-410-0028

Life's Issues with host Lauren Jawno and her special guest Dina and Lisa Kozich:
Born and raised in the GTA, Dina grew up playing every sport she could and danced competitively for 15 years. Upon finishing highschool she earned a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University. Dina entered the workforce working a '9-5' job but quickly knew it wasn't the path for her. She attended Fire College in January of 2010 and in February of 2011 she was hired as a Firefighter with the City of Toronto. When she's not working she keeps busy working out at Reebok Crossfit East Woodbridge, plays beach volleyball as well as snowboards in the winter. She especially loves travelling the world meeting new people and being submerged in different cultures.
