    2015 UNLV football preview

    in Sports

Jeremy and Chris are back to continue our preview series of each team before the season begins. This week we discuss UNLV and their first season under new head coach Tony Sanchez.

Sanchez is moving up from perennial top high school program from Las Vegas' Bishop Gorman to UNLV which may or may not have as good as facilities as a high school program in the area.

There is a lot of work for the Rebels but luckily they are in the weaker West Division and have a top wide receiver in Devonte Boyd. Also, having Blake Decker as their starting quarterback in place is a leg up on most teams in the conference.

We also go over Mountain West media days with the interesting quotes from coaches and payers, plus go over the all-conference and order of finish.

    Starling Glow Live

    in Military

Join us this week as we welcome the pop rock band, Starling Glow. The LA based band fronted by Liz Hill, has just released their brand new single “Caution Tape,” which comes off their debut EP. Liz Anne Hill took about 15 years and a few busted romances to create the songs that make up her band Starling Glow’s self-titled debut album, a blend of modern pop musical styles that ranges from pop/rock to dance and indie. Grammy nominated producer, songwriter, and musician Billy Mohler, one time member of L.A. band The Calling, who has also played or worked with Smashing Pumpkins, Macy Gray, Liz Phair, Kelly Clarkson, AWOLNation and skateboard pro Tony Hawk was hired to produce the record and immediately recognized the fellow Orange County native’s talent. The record was just released this past March through the newly formed Indie Label Trailblaze Music Group, where Mohler is General Manger.  A multi-instrumentalist, Hill grew up in Orange County surrounded by music. Her mom played piano, her dad guitar and older sister piano, pipe organ and drums, while they all sang. Her earliest musical influences include blues/country artists like Bonnie Raitt, Shania Twain and Dolly Parton, while learning to play Jimi Hendrix and Steely Dan songs on bass. We will talk to Starling Glow about their upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at their music, feature their latest songs, and ask them to share their message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Starling Glow at http://www.starlingglow.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with them during the show (718) 766-4193. If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. As always we will give shout outs to our deployed military listeners. Our message to the troops: WE do what we do, because YOU do what you do.

The Race Trim MotorSports Hour #32

    in Sports

NASCAR is enjoying a weekend in the mountains (again) as the Sprint Cup Series competes at Pocono Raceway, and the guys in the Frat House Sports Garage are pouring over the "data" to help you get into "Race Trim", Sunday morning, beginning at 11 am.

7 weeks ago it was Martin Truex Jr solving all the angles of the "Tricky Triangle", but a lot has changed since then. Kyle Busch has managed a staggering 4 victories over 5 of those 7 weeks and is looking to spoil Truex Jr's bid for a Pocono "sweep". With all eyes on Busch to tie a record (win a 4th consecutive race?), at least 2 past Pocono winners, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, are racing against time to secure their claim in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Also under the hood this week: major changes are coming for MWR which might spell the end of the iconic team; SHR states that a contract extension for fan-favorite Danica Patrick is going to happen; "Frat House" Mike will bring an NHRA update from Sonoma Raceway and Sidekick will offer the best possible roster with his NASCAR Fantasy Picks.

Stop by the Garage and have your morning coffee with hosts "Uncle"Mark & "Crew Chief" Brandon for great "wheel chatter" and bring along YOUR comments to: 347-826-9964, Sunday morning, 11 am (edt) !!
