    in Radio

Today I will be speaking about Tony Barnes and we will be chatting about 7 Tips for Career in Radio Broadcasting”. The Idea for the show came up Tony and I were on Facebook trying to book a follow up show with another former Guest Jeff Crider. When Tony suggested this idea. So here we are , I hope to learn a lot from a real professional , and as always I invite all to listen

Tony Barnes is a professional DJ at station KTLF in Colorado springs CO. he is also a two time former guest on my show and the author of the Article below “7 Tips for Career in Radio Broadcasting”

Tony Barnes: “I am a native Texan who spent 3 years in the Marine Corps Reserves and 25 years on active duty in the Air Force. I currently work for the Army Wounded Warrior (AW2) program and am a Community Relations Representative and DJ for KTLF radio. [A]

http://m.voices.yahoo.com/7-tips-career-radio-broadcasting-12156767.html Ever fantasize about being behind a radio microphone? Have you found yourself yelling at a radio because the radio talk show's host IS NOT asking the obvious question of an antagonistic caller? Do you dream of spinning records in a closed studio broadcasting pithy comments to the world between tunes? Have you ever imagined cutting into a regularly programmed broadcast to alert people to some earth shattering news item?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, you may be infected with the broadcast virus.

Coaches' Corner Cabaret Series with guest Sally Darling

    in Business

Next up in my Cabaret Performers Series is Sally Darling.  Sally Darling's background in theater and related areas is rich and varied:  actress, director, coach, narrator, cabaret performer.  Her first professional role as an actress was 'Anna' in "The King and I" with Leonard Graves.  (As Yul Brynner’s understudy, Graves played the King over a thousand times on Broadway.)  She has since performed with Barry Manilow, James MacArthur, David Carradine, Katharine Houghton, Sarah Rice, Hal Linden......  She has staged operas, narrated with symphony orchestras, and directed everything from Thurber to Shakespeare.  In the 70s she created and staged three revues of the music of Noël Coward and Cole Porter, then created a fourth for the Theater Guild which she tailored for Patricia Morrison, Larry Kert, Dick Shawn and Tony Tanner.   As a narrator for The Talking Book program of The Library of Congress and for Recorded Books, Sally has over 250 fiction and non-fiction books on tape, including "To Kill a Mockingbird" for Recorded Books, for which she was chosen over more than 100 applicants.  She has won awards for her compelling voice and her unmatched interpretive skills.

Sally returns to Don't Tell Mama with “Perspectives”, the latest in her acclaimed signature series of themed programs.  She will be accompanied as usual by her Musical Director, the extraordinary Matthew Martin Ward.  The series began with "Choices", then it examined "The Way We Are" before exploring "Matters of the Heart".  In "Perspectives" she invites us through songs and text to be aware of how we see things, how each of us has a particular, individual point of view which determines what we receive.
