Tony Barnes is on the Board of Directors for the Air Force Enlisted Village
There are over 300 “forgotten veterans” who live in an enchanting retirement village on the Emerald Coast of Florida. Located in Shalimar, Florida it’s the Air Force Enlisted Village and it is home to approximately 300 enlisted widows. Although it is named after the Air Force, there are opportunities for widows from all 5 branches of the military. These forgotten veterans followed their spouses to various parts of the world often inhibiting their abilities to establish their own careers. In many cases, their mates have died suddenly leaving some in dire financial crisis. We provide a home and an environment of dignity for those in their twilight years. www.afenlistedwidows.org
