Tonight at 8pm ET on Ernest Radio Network, it's Political Gravity.
Your host Jane Hoffman goes back to one of our favorite subjects on Ernest Radio Network, that of monk & charity worker Thomas Merton. He lived an extraordinary yet simplistic life, dedicating it to God's service. Tonight, Jane focuses her attention on his time at the Abbey of Gethsemani, in Kentucky. He arrived there in 1941, and stayed until his death in 1968. You'll hear more on this amazing human being tonight.
All this plus NPR news, music, & much more.
Thomas Merton said "One mortal sin is more powerful than an atom bomb." What he meant is that each individual chooses sin like hate, greed, lust and it manifest itself - it is a driving force for war and other human conflict. Jane will read excerpts tonight and Jon will respond. Other current events. too.
Imagine a book club built around your prayer life — with no reading required! Join us in our journey to find God between the pages of our favorite books. This week, Lori and Alice will discuss a quote from Thoughts on Solitude by Thomas Merton.
In a time of budgetary pressure, a shrinking fleet, and an ongoing discussion of their relevance, how are we keeping out legacy Aircraft Carrier's in shape for the regular demands for extended deployments while at the same time bringing the new FORD Class CVN online?
What are some of the lessons we have learned in our decades of operating nuclear powered aircraft carriers that we are bring forward to serve the Fleet in the coming decades so we always have an answer to the question, "Where are the aircraft carriers?"
To discuss this and more, our guest for the full hour will be Rear Admiral Thomas J. Moore, USN, Program Executive Officer for Aircraft Carriers and is responsible for life cycle management for In-Service Carriers as well as the design and construction of the Future Class Carriers.
When it comes to obeying God, it should not be a hard or stressful thing to achieve. Obeying God's commands should come naturally once we truly receive the unfailing love that God has in store for us. God's love for His people will never fail; therefore, we should never feel like God has failed us. It is important for us to remember that God will never leave us without support. As we continue to experience God's love and mercy, we will continue have a passion to obey Him.
