Pete Thomas of Biggest Loser - Sticking to Your Fitness Goals

    in Fitness

Sharon McRill, Owner of The Betty Brigade, will be talking with Pete Thomas from The Biggest Loser about sticking to your fitness goals.

In November 2005, Pete Thomas walked away from the finale of NBC’s The Biggest Loser a winner - and a loser. He won $100,000 for losing the most weight of all the contestants that season. What he lostwas 185 pounds in only nine short months – most of which he lost at home after being “voted off” by the other contestants.

At his largest, Thomas tipped the scales at over 416lbs. As a child, Pete never learned about nutrition and exercise due to his transient lifestyle – a result of his mother’s serious mental illness. As a young child, he was left alone or with his younger sister— forced to find food wherever he could. Both Pete and his sister were put into foster care.

Author Nick Pirog on "Henry Bins", "Thomas Prescott" on Authors on the Air

    in Books

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes author Nick Pirog.  I read 3:00a.m., Nick's novella and was completely captivated.  I read his "Thomas Prescott" series too and was sold on his funky writing style.  Here is what I learned about Nick.  "Many authors have shaped my writing style, but I put three writers on a pedestal; John Grisham, Nelson DeMille, and Michael Crichton. The first two authors are basically the antithesis of one another.  John Grisham's stories are so good  that you don't care that his characters don't jump off the page. Nelson DeMille's characters are so grand and hilarious that you don't care what happens in the story.  And last, M.C. (RIP), who somehow carved out a genre all his own and for that alone, I cherish his works."  To purchase Nick's books go to http://amzn.to/1JE9Kco  or visit his website at http://www.nickthriller.com/.  THIS IS A LIVE INTERVIEW SO JOIN US BY CALLING 347-633-9609.

Word on the Street: Racism (Common Sense Doesn't Work)

    in Lifestyle

Life is full of problems that seem to have no solutions. If there are, then why do we continue to struggle with the same old stuff. You hear the words Common Sense, just use good common sense, but if it was that simple then what is the problem? Do we lack common sense or is there no such thing. Politics, Religion, Relationships, Family, nothing is off the table because everything is effected by our decisions. Lets talk. Your voice matters and your opinion counts, but if you don't speak up you won't be heard and if your not heard, and understood then the problems won't go away on thier own.
