WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

Today on BlogTalk Radio the subject of why Katrina is a blessing in disguise. If this storm had not happened attention would not have been called to some of the most atrocious Government actions against Black Americans in the modern history of this country. Which has been reciprocated through out the country and not even recorded in the Public Media outside of the South.  We believe the killing of defenseless Youth began in The state of Florida in Jeb Bush country with the killing of Trayvon Martin in 2012 .  It did not, it began with a Youth in New Orleans a day before Katrina, who was shot in the back by Police, decapitated and burned. His head buried in one place and his body in another.

The death of Henry Glover was unlike any other in modern times.  The hate and brutal viciousness of the crime is reminiscent of the Age Of Jim Crow, and was never reported outside of New Orleans.  I promised the people of New Orleans that it would be my mission to let the world know what has happened to them and why.  The people of New Orleans have a unique history of African settlement before the coming of the White Man.

Protesters Wage Hunger Strike To Save Dyett Public School

    in Women

Are you willing to put your life on the line for what you believe? Twelve advocates of supporting good neighborhood public schools have certainly done so. The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, wants to close Dyett public school, strategically located in the Hyde Park area bordering the Bronzeville community, forcing families to have to travel miles away from home to reach a nearby public school. In Chicago, traveling to outside neighborhoods could be fatal, given the unchecked gang violence that cost so many lives last school year. The bottom line issue is always money. The Dyett High school building would serve those well who want to include it in a real estate deal as the city negotiates space in Hyde Park for the new Presidential library. And as for the safety and education of the children? The city has chosen to ignore an excellent plan for the reopening Dyett as a Dyett Global Leadership and Green Technology School. Mr. Jitu Brown and Dr. Ayesha Wade Bey join us to give an update on the hunger strike.

Lord Have Murphy with Fran Shaw

    in Women

While there may be a plethora of books on consciousness, none is quite like the new Amazon #1 bestseller, Lord Have Murphy: Waking Up in the Spiritual Marketplace. It’s a funny, sardonic commentary that’s also a brilliant entrée to a new level of consciousness unknown even to many people who have dabbled in meditation, mindfulness and even yoga.

The book’s author Fran Shaw, Ph.D., is a longtime practitioner in a spiritual discipline and an award-winning university writing instructor. Out of her fertile mind has popped Murphy, the star narrator of this journey into this new level of awareness. And Murphy has a wry comment on EVERYTHING!

Murphy demurs from being a teacher—no guru is he—yet his exploration of the nature of this deep new level of conscious awareness is a fun-filled, quip-induced, deeply funny, pathway to the higher self.

As Fran notes, “We hear a lot these days about mindfulness. ‘Weapons of mass instruction are proliferating.’ How to clear the air? To trust what’s in us and that we’re finding our way to it.”

With unrelenting humor, this book tells the tale of Murphy giving it a try, only to discover in himself an extraordinary truth: that contact with the finer energy animating us awakens us to a completely different level of being alive.

Murphy’s satirical comments make readers laugh out loud. The book appeals to both of our natures, the everyday and the higher. For Murphy, the daily ups and downs become the necessary reminders to awaken, and “we don’t have to be a certain way to wake up. Nothing about me needs to change except where the attention is.”
