    Rerun-Mentorship with Don Mills

    in Lifestyle

Life Challenge #2 with Donald Mills

Mentorship. Last week, we found a reason to celebrate. This week, we want to figure out who we are, what we want out of life and how are we going to get it! We started life admiring someone-the parental figures in our lives, and then we had our role models. We took a little bit of this and a little bit of that and developed our personalities and styles. Now, we are the role models and folk want to learn from us. But for us to take our lives to the next level so that we are in a position to give something back, we may have to take two steps backwards. For the better or worse, we have to remember how we got to where we are in life. We have to remember what we wanted, did we get it, and know, what we want now. We have to remember what happened in our lives that resulted in our feeling happy or sad and know how we feel now. Life Challengers, you are the mentors? Folk look to learn from you. They want to be like you. How do you help them live fuller and more satisfying lives and what are you doing for yourself to live a fuller and more satisfying life. Time to take inventory of yourself!

    Life Challenge #2-Reposition You!

    in Lifestyle

Life Challengers, come on in and have a seat. Class is in! Active participation is encouraged, but not required. Sharing your thoughts with comments that inspire, encourage, motivate and enlighten helps us live fuller and more satisfying lives. There is no right or wrong answers. Plan to join us on Wednesdays for the radio broadcast. Last week, it was all about Mentorship. We are the products of our environment. Many parental figures and friends encouraged, inspired, motivated and enlightened us. They were our mentors and many of them, still are! Now, it is time to reposition ourselves in life in preparation for tomorrow’s challenges. If we are not happy or satisfied with where we are in life, it is time to reposition ourselves. We still have to know what we want and what we already have, so we will know what is required from us. Hello! If we are not where we think we should be in life, what can we do that is different from what we have been doing? To reposition you, change must take place. We have to prepare by thinking about and planning the most effective course of action that will help us. Once again, look at all of your life domains (health, relationships, spirituality, employment, education, recreation and pleasure, housing, etc.) and decide if you are okay. If not, imagine what would make things better, then develop goals and attach plans to achieve them. Remember, it is not business as usual, you have to reposition yourself! Life Challengers, what have you doing, now, to get what you want, that you hadn't been doing? We need testimonies that encourage, inspire, motivate and enlighten. Please share so that others can join in on the discussion.

    Flawed Happiness with Cori Tadrus

    in Lifestyle

Cori Tadrus writes, "You probably don't know much about me, since you're reading my bio, so here's a little background: I am a humanist. A pacifist by nature, who gets salty when I drink Wild Turkey and sassy when I wear hoop earrings. I dress my French Bulldog, Lola, in funky sweaters when it's cold. I have a degree in anthropology and spent most of my twenties working as a refugee caseworker by day and a bartender by night. I listen to Jay-Z when I cook, Sam Cooke when I bake, and Miles Davis when I write. I am honest to a fault. I believe in conspiracy theories, astrology, the underdog, and stilettos. I suck at math. I am way more flea market than stock market. "

On this first day of Spring we are going to getting happy with our guest and kick this season off on the right foot. Join the conversation.

    FLAWED HAPPINESS

Athena Wallace has spent the first thirty years of her life desperately trying to be perfect. But as her sassy, unfiltered best friend, Nadine, points out, “being perfect ain’t got shit to do with being happy.” With this reality weighing heavily on her, Athena takes on a new assignment at the magazine where she works as a columnist: an exposé on how six strangers seek happiness through the exotic venues of Manhattan nightlife. Side by side with an eclectic cast of characters – including a millionaire attorney who moonlights as a drag queen and a motorcycle-riding grandma wit h a ‘fuck-it’ list – Athena embarks on a soulful, and often satirical, journey to find her happiness. As she discovers, sometimes you have to look outside of yourself in order to become the person you are meant to be. Purchase your copy here: http://www.coritadrus.com/purchase.html

Life's Challenges then off to the Bedroom

    in Lifestyle

Donald Ray Mills asks: Are celebrations really necessary?

He shared on social media the following story. My twins, Donald and Dorian just had a birthday- (see photo album). I swear, I was just as happy when we celebrated their 4th birthday. I had the same clown on one of their cakes. How about you? Celebrations bring family and friends together for a joyful occasion. They encourage, inspire, motivate and let others know how much they are loved and appreciated. They are excellent opportunities to bond and network. Life Challengers. What do you think? Who will you recognize? What is the occasion? Do something on behalf of another, just because! We need to spend more time catching someone doing something right, then, having a party to celebrate the occasion! Life Challengers and friends, please share your thoughts so we may inspired, motivated, encouraged and enlightened by them. (Can you relate?)
