Ms. Swendon is currently working on a program for therapy dog ambassador for, Train a Dog-Save a Warrior (TADSAW) at tadsaw.org . These would be therapy dogs, PTSD Support Dogs that go out into the community and promote the Service Dog Program by actually demonstrating what a Service Dog can do for a warrior surviving with PTSD, TBI, & MST.
In 1987 she founded the first chapter in Texas of the Delta Society, now Pet Partners. She had the first certified therapy dog in South Texas. Since then she has been active in television for 20 years, written 52 cookbooks and now a series of books entitled “POCKETS OF PEACE”. Each book in this series is inspirational and motivational in content to be distributed free of charge to those struggling to heal, to wounded warriors, to warriors deployed and deploying as well as the fourth in the series, “K9's − Therapy for PTSD, TBI and MST. This book features photographs of warriors with their service dogs and shows the depth and intensity of the bond between the two.
In 2006 Ms. Swendson founded the Penny's from Heaven Foundation, Inc. with the primary focus being therapy dogs for those struggling to heal from a myriad of afflictions. Because of the location of San Antonio and the vast number of military and military hospitals the primary focus became working with our wounded warriors with PTSD and TBI. The program split into two separate foundations only recently one focusing on therapy dogs and the other solely providing service dogs to our wounded warriors in need of help.

Tonight’s Diabetes Late Nite is inspired by the iconic musical group, The Isley Brothers.
Marvin Isley was the youngest member and bass guitarist of the Isley Brothers. Marvin remained a member until complications from his longtime battle with diabetes forced him into retirement in 1997. Having been diagnosed with diabetes in his early 20s, Isley's condition worsened to the point where he had to have both legs amputated.
A diabetes diagnosis can be scary, but ignoring it won’t make it go away. Learning to accept your diabetes takes time, energy and attitude. But once you learn how to accept your diabetes you can start to manage it and live better. The transition from denial to acceptance and all the stages in between varies for everyone.
Tonight Mr. Divabetic explores the process of ‘ACCEPTANCE’ with Dr. Beverly S. Adler PhD, CDE in the final installment of our series on the emotional side of living with diabetes. Additionally, ‘New York Times bestselling co-author, and former Senior Writer for People Magazine Mark Dagostino talks about his latest book ‘Ellie & Coach,' Professional Animal Trainer, Debby Kay, who specializes in scent detection work with dogs talks about the power of the human-animal connection along with Terri Seidman and Mama Rose Marie.
Throughout the podcast we will be playing selected songs from The Isley Brothers: The RCA Victor and T-Neck Album Masters (1959-1983), a monumental 23-disc box set collection chronicling the sonic evolution and abiding achievements of the unprecedented R&B ensemble courtesy of SONY MUSIC. This box set follows The Isley Brothers through their transformation from a 1950's doo-wop/gospel vocal group into the world's preeminent R&B rock 'n' soul powerhouse party band.
Diabetes is on the rise in dogs and cats, and Dr Ruth MacPete tells us what this means for pet parents. You will also meet a young lady, Sara Carson who has taught her dog Hero over 300 performing tricks and is touring North America, and Laura Roach from Camp Bow Wow gives us some training tips.
Richard Nelson from Forever Pet Care tells of his unique service that guarantees your dog or cat will be taken care of after your death.

Can anybody tell me what is the big deal with the comment GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson made a comparison between Syrian refugees and rabid dogs. Have we gotten to the point in this country where you can't make a comment without people not understanding the meaning behind the comment. Are we the only country that can take in these refugees? Leadership don't know what to do with the people we already have here. It is a good thing that the illegal Mexicans are packing up and making their way back to Mexico. If liberals/Democrats are concerned about the well being of the refugees, why don't they open their homes to the homeless in America? It only applies if they can use somebody else's money and resources to get things done. We have some insurance companies backing out of the healthcare exchanges because it is not financially feasible to maintain.
The entitlement feeling is a mutha! No one gets to where they are in their lives without any help from anyone. You owe whoever has helped you even if there's not a dollar amount attatched to what you owe. Sometimes a thank you is all you need to make things right and clear up a debt.
Tonight's topic is politics.
