Experts in the service dog industry, Jeanne Hampl and Darcie Boltz share their perspective on a family highlighted with Matt Lauer who have a service dog for their small child. Can we expect a young child to know how to properly handle a dog by herself? During the interview the dog showed signs of stress that the general public wouldn't recognize, but had the dog industry ignite - like panting and yawning. This interview brings up a larger topic of service dog welfare that gets lost in the "feel-good" stories, like this, that get ignorantly run in the media all the time. My question is: WHAT ABOUT THE DOG?

Lon was joined by Jennifer Steiner on December 23, 2014 to talk about how InnerChange Residential Therapy has successfully grown into six programs. Jennifer is the new CEO of InnterChange and excited about the future of this growing corporation. Part of the secret was each acquisition was deliberate and chosen for their compatibility with the vision of InnerChange, and had excellent reputations for quality relational work with students and families. Lake House Academy-NC is the latest acquisition, coming after a several year management contract they had been in with InnerChange. Lake House Academy works with girls ages 10-14, adds pre-teen girls to the groups served. InnerChange in the past has predominately worked with all girl programs, except for Oakley School-UT which is coed. However, according to Steiner, InnerChange does not limit itself to the populations they serve and hold open the possibility of expanding through additional coed schools or even all male programs. Other InnerChange Schools are: Sunrise Residential Treatment Center-UT, Fulshear Treatment to Transition-TX, Chrysalis-MT and New Haven Residential Treatment Center-UT.

Kristin Peterson is a Janesville native and a filmmaker. While she is working on her own short film Dog*Walk, for the past 3 years, Kristin’s been closely involved with Beloit International Film Festival where she works as a programmer and other things. We spoke about what Kristin learned from watching over 3,000 films, the importance of sound, and how we could get Angelina Jolie to work with small independent moviemakers.

Amy stopped in to talk about the work she does in Jamaica where she goes annually to help train local teachers, what she learned from her experience, how great the island nation’s needs are, and how little things from America, can make a huge difference in a one-room school house in Jamaica.

Drug dealing, stripping, prostitution, gangster racketeering, theft, murder for hire, gambling etc are professions that some parents do but but they wouldn't want their children to grow up to do so how do they justify doing it?
If you have to keep your occupation a secret from your kids then you shouldn't be doing it.

An avid dog lover, Fantastic Frank discusses Beau the Dog. Beau is a 2 and 1/2 year old Golden Retriever/White German Shepard mix with no history of aggression or biting. But after Beau allegedly killed a duck that wandered on to his own property, he was seized by animal control and the city of Dyersburg, TN plans to euthanize him as a "vicious animal."
Beau should not be killed for this reason and should be able to live out his life with his owner, Danny Higgins. Danny is heartbroken at the thought that the city plans to euthanize his beloved dog on November 20th.
Danny now has to visit Beau in boarding where the city is forcing him to stay. And on top of this, they're charging him to keep Beau there.
Beau does not deserve a death sentence - he was just being a dog. Please support Danny and Beau and tell the city of Dyersburg, TN not to kill Beau!
