Gordon Myers - author of Built to Bully and Street Smart Kids

    in Women

Gordon Myers was born in Namibia, then grew up in a tumultuous environment in Cape Town from the age of 7. After skirting serious bouts of all kinds of trouble,  at 25, he took off, with nothing more than a backpack. After eight months of winging it through 11 different countries, he arrived in the USA, alone and broke. Without a formal education or a single contact to rely on, one can only imagine what lay ahead.

From day one he started learning lessons the hard way, enduring many more as he discovered the huge delayed culture shock and how some things worked in the USA, a very different world than he was used to. Now, 26 years later, married for 22 years, a proud father of an accomplished daughter and son, Gordon knows what it is like to seek information in nontraditional and innovative ways.

His experiences have allowed him to be an expert in managing life when things are not so easy. Still living a very much appreciated lifestyle for longer than he can remember, Gordon has made it his mission to help others, especially our youth, as he is the first to admit that without help, it will be impossible to thrive in this ultra competitive world.

His one caution is that you have to be the kind of person that others want to help...while this may not be so obvious it is critical and very worthwhile taking the time to learn.

These books, Street Smart Kids and Built to Bully were written with a passion for saving as many people as possible from the hard knocks that either slow us down or take us out of the game.

    The Cult of Liberal Theology

    in Christianity

The Apostle Paul warned the Church--both ancient and modern--to recognize and defend against certain enemies:  those who come against her from the outside and those who attack from within.  Today, that warning still holds true but the greatest danger by far is not the Atheists, the Agnostics or even the anti-Christian mainstream media--the greatest danger is the corrupt and apostate shepherds who infest our seminaries and colleges and who stand in the way of anyone fighting to preach the Gospel.

"For the time will come when men will not endure sound doctrine but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." 2 Timothy 4:3-4

Walter Martin tackles the cancer of Liberal Theology within the Church...on Night Watch.

    Mystical Fandoms: A New Theology

    in Spirituality

Join Bryan and Amanda as they speak with special guest and Bryan's wife, Tracey Ouellette. Together, they present the "new mystical theology" of fandoms. They will discuss how popular shows like Doctor Who, Sherlock, Supernatural, and Star Trek have spawned their own mythologies and produced subcultures that engage them as viable archetypal belief systems, effectively creating unintentional new spiritualities.

If you think religion is dying, if you think God is dead, this show will show you that Divinity hides in the most unlikely of places and adapts to the most unexpected of circumstances. You'll never watch your favorite show the same way again.

Definition of the Term Biblical Theology, Part 1 (Theology 101 #1)

    in Christianity

This podcast is designed to give you a basic understanding of God, the Bible, and Christian beliefs. As. J. Dwight Pentecost said, "There is no higher activity in which the mind may be engaged than the pursuit of the knowledge of God."

Let's start out reading the Word of God itself. Today's passage of Scripture is 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 which reads: "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

Today's words from a theologian are from Thomas Aquinas. He said: "We can't have full knowledge all at once. We must start by believing; then afterwards we may be led on to master the evidence for ourselves."

Our topic for today is titled "Definition of the Term Biblical Theology" (Part 1) from "The Moody Handbook of Theology" by Dr. Paul Enns. And, I want to remind you to take advantage of our special offer. If you enjoy this podcast, please feel free to purchase a copy of this book -- "The Moody Handbook of Theology." It is available on our website for just $50.

The term ‘biblical theology' can be used in different ways. Although the way we will use it focuses on a special method of theological study, it should be understood that the term is widely used to refer to a movement that is basically antagonistic to evangelical faith. This negative usage is considered and discarded before the legitimate meaning of biblical theology is discussed.

    Job the Theology of reason

    in Religion

           Job the Theology of reason

Theology-the field of study and analysis that treats of God and of God's attributes and relations to the universe; study of divine things or religious truth

Reason-a basis or cause, as for some belief, action, fact, event ... i.e. logic

This then would be the logical study of God in relation to the universe.

Job is a type of the last days servant of God .... the afflictions and the plateau of the overcomer.

    Job 4:6
Is not this thy fear, thy confidence, thy hope, and the uprightness of thy ways?
