That angry atheist isn't helping!! Or is he?

    in Religion

I hear so often that the angry atheist isn't helping the movement.  Being angry doesn't help our position or cause.  It doesn't push the conversation forward.  It doesn't help move people away from faith or belief.  It only serves to fortify the religious in their rut of superstitious ideas.

Or does it?  When I was a believer, I got angry at all the caustic atheists, and wanted to prove them wrong.  Doing so moved me to atheism.  I realized that the jerk may be a jerk, but he was also right.

Let's talk about the different ways people talk about atheism and within the atheism movement.  Are the mean, angry atheists helping?

Plus your calls.  Let the awesomeness wash over you.

Atheist Children's Book Author Bids Farewell

    in Atheism

It is hard to put into written words what I really want to say, so I want to "talk" to you about my decision to stop writing. This is a thank you, but also a rant about the atheist "community".

You Do Not Have To Be Smart To Be An Atheist

    in Atheism

So many people think that atheists are all scientists or at least have an advanced understanding of science, but that is not true. However, just because someone does not have an affinity for science, does not mean they cannot accept the science that is out there. Just because someone cannot work out a complicated scientific method, does not mean they cannot look at life rationally.

    Atheist vs. Archbish

    in Religion

Prominent Atheist, Richard Dawkins, admitted to God’s existence or at least to a very small chance that God exists.  This admission took place in a debate with Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury.  This debate was not what was expected of two men deemed to be polar opposites on the existence of God and evolution.  Not only did Dawkins give the nod to God’s existence but the Archbishop apparently agreed with evolution.  If these two men, who are highly esteemed and notable in their achievements in opposing arenas, can come to agreement, is this an indication that we all may some-day come to similar conclusions?  Listen in as the Brothers in The Virtual Living Room discuss God’s existence and evolution.

Please feel free to phone into the Virtual Living room with your comments or questions.  We air programs on Blog Talk Radio at the following times: Sun 2:00pm, Mon 8:00pm, Tue 8:00pm, Wed 7:00pm, Thu 8:00pm, Fri 7:00pm & Sat 9:00am.  All times are Eastern Standard Time.

    Atheist Kills Muslims (R)

    in Christianity

In this reairing (repeat) episode, blogger Sacerdotus speaks on the recent tragedy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina where Craigs Hicks, a "militant atheist" and devotee of "new atheist" Dr. Richard Dawkins executed three young Muslim students.  Hicks executed in cold blood: Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, Yusor Mohammad, 21, and Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19 - See more at: http://www.sacerdotus.com/2015/02/atheist-kills-young-muslims.html#sthash.1lMfPTt1.dpuf.

The crime has sent shockwaves across the world, especially among atheists who often claim that atheism is a peaceful movement as opposed to religion which they claim causes war and death.  Despite local law officials calling the crime an isolated incident over parking spaces, the possibility of it being a hate crime has not been ruled out.  The federal goverment is investigating the crimes for possible charges of hate since Hicks' personal views on Facebook and in person exhibit hate towards God, religion and religious people.  Sacerdotus gives his input on the tragedy and speaks on the psychology behind Hicks and atheists in general based on available research.
