Hosts Phil Bowermaster and Stephen Gordon discuss the amazing material that has helped shape the last 100 years and that may have a lot to tell us about what our world will be like in the future. From its unexpected origins to the major environmental threats it poses, plastic is only going to become more important.
Two recent news stories perhaps tell us about our coming plastic future:
Bio-inspired transparent synthetic materials could protect cars and people
A new self-healing chemistry for plastics
Just how plasticized will our future be? Tune in and explore.
Our host Jay Michaels 25 year hobbiest will be talking a little bit about the show and what the show is all about. what 2015 will bring for Jay. and special appeances that Jay Michaels will be at. Also we will talk a bit about some new products that Southern NH Plastics is developing for 2015.
15 min introduction.
What are the solutions?
On our upcoming Dimensions of Quantum, we are reexamining the feminization of the globe issue...looking at causes ranging from food to pharmaceuticals to plastics to the water supply.
We are also continuing the grassroots movement to label GMOs as this is one of the biggest challenges we face right now as the industry literally pours BILLIONS of dollars into the effort to keep consumers in the dark about what's in the food.
AND, we are discussing the covert program to spread GMOs into every country on the globe, even where bans have been instituted. As always, people need to know that ANYTHING they can do to produce ANY of their food is a step in the right direction, and we encourage these steps by presenting the simplest methods possible for doing so.
Wednesday, July 9, 6pm EDT: To continue the series on the Environment, Mitchell has invited back Professor Frederick vom Saal.
Frederick was given the Heinz award in fall of 2010. He is a biologist at the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is known for discovering health problems linked to exposure to common chemicals in everyday products such as bisphenol A (BPA), a widely used ingredient in consumer products.
Dr. vom Saal’s work has opened new questions about the safety of many chemicals which had been thought safe based on traditional methods used in toxicology.
The focus of his current research is on the effects of fetal exposure to low doses of natural estrogens and to estrogenic endocrine disrupting chemicals.
Tune in this evening for what will be a highly informative show about the significant role plastics play in harming our environment and health.
