He is a graduate of the University of Texas Law School and a former captain in the US Army Quartermaster Corps. Jack’s foundation began when he was elected managing editor of the University of Texas International Law Journal in 1970. In 2003, Jack put aside legal writing to enroll in the prestigious writing school of St. Céré, France where he graduated from among other esteemed writers.
London has spent much of his life exploring a deep interest in World War II and its effects on the home front—particularly small towns. His love for writing and history united to produce his French Letters series of novels which have been internationally praised for their meticulous historical research and ability to capture the language, attitudes, and moral culture of their setting in prose described by reviewers as ‘beautiful, but not pretentious.’
Jack’s passion for writing resonates in all of his literary works, earning them the national acclaim they have received. Most recently, Jack’s French Letters series received honorable mention at the 2011 London Book Festival and The Military Writers Society of America awarded him the prestigious honor of 2011-2012 Author of the Year for Engaged in War, the second installment in the trilogy.
This show is an archived REPRISE edition of The Cosmic Citizen. It originally broadcast on June 30, 2012. Please do not call in. Last summer Paula Thompson and Christilyn Biek-Larson interviewed author and long-time student of The Urantia Book, Larry Mullins, on his thorough and revealing research in his book entitled, A History of The Urantia Papers; now in its 2nd edition. We explored some issues about the book's origin in greater depth, and made a special effort to answer all of the questions of callers.Larry answered or proposed many questions:
Dr. Meredith Sprunger thought The Urantia Book was a hoax when he first saw it. What changed his mind? What did Dr. Sprunger and his team of 11 ministers discover when they visited 533?
What part did Dr. Lena Sadler play in the revelation? How did the first contact with celestial beings happen? What did Dr. Sadler learn when he hypnotized the sleeping subject? How did the forum get started? How did the forum get involved in the process? What did the Sadlers do that triggered the first written manuscript?
What prompted Dr. Sadler to test the celestial beings who were talking through the sleeping subject with difficult questions?
Does anyone really know how the Urantia Papers were materialized? Why was the original written manuscript destroyed? Why were the original typed manuscripts destroyed after the type was set for the Urantia Book?
Why did the revelators use so much human information?
When did the Jesus Papers come through? How?
Why were the revelators displeased with the forum?
Was The Urantia Book intended for a later time? When?
When was permission given to publish the UB?
Showtime is 12:00 PM Eastern Time; 9:00 AM Pacific Time.

Julia Ibbotson is the award-winning author of The Old Rectory: Escape to a Country Kitchen, first published to acclaim in the USA and now re-launched with a brand-new cover by her new English publisher in the UK. Julia has been writing creatively all her life (unpublished!) but her day jobs to pay the mortgage have been as a school teacher and latterly a university academic, gaining her PhD at the age of 57. She delights in being a wife and mother to four, with four little grandchildren. She loves reading, gardening, growing food, cooking for family and friends and country life. Having published many academic texts and papers, she came late to actually publishing her creative writing, at the age of 60 plus, when she was persuaded to write the story of the renovation of her Victorian rectory in The Old Rectory. She has combined memoir, history, research, story and recipes in this first published book, which has won a number of international book festivals in the biography category, gained 5 star reviews on Amazon, and has been widely featured (along with her house) in the media. She has begun to delve into the world of blogging, facebook and now has her own website at www.juliaibbotson.com at which she also posts blogs regularly, about writing, life and her passions. Her new project is a trilogy of novels following the life story of a new character, Jess, through from fleeing to West Africa as a volunteer teacher/nurse in the 1960s to the millennium. The first of the series, Drumbeats, is due to be published later this year. You can find out more on her website and on her author page on Amazon.
I just filed to run for Congress! Democrat Mitch Mallett to challenge Rep. Vern Buchanan for seat in Congress Bradenton newcomer Mitch Mallett to run against Rep. Vern Buchanan Read more here: http://www.bradenton.com/2013/10/24/4789112/bradenton-newcomer-mitch-mallett.html By SARA KENNEDY — firstname.lastname@example.org MANATEE — Democrat Mitch Mallett said Wednesday he has filed papers to run against incumbent Republican Vern Buchanan next year. Mallett, 57, of Bradenton, has not run for public office previously, he said in an interview Wednesday. Asked why he decided to run, Mallett said Buchanan “votes right along with the Tea Party, and we need to get a different perspective in Congress.” Added Mallett: “He’s a rubber stamp for the Tea Party and the Republican Party; he ran saying he’d be open-minded, but if you look at his votes, he has gone the other way.” Mallett was particularly critical of Buchanan’s position on the the Affordable Care Act, saying that the nation “lost $24 billion” because Republicans attempted to defund Obamacare by shutting down the government. The stalemate between the parties ended last week, with Buchanan voting “yes” to halt the shutdown. Sara Kennedy, Herald reporter, can be reached at 941-745-7031. Follow her on Twitter @sarawrites.
After spending almost two decades researching my family history and collecting photographs, documents and other family papers, it's time for me to make a decision that most genealogist or family historians will have to make.
What am I going to do with all these records, photograhs, papers and other documents? Well, this is the question I asked myself. Somehow I started thinking about my two sons having to go through a collection that took me almost two decaded to collect sure something happen to me.
