George Martorano with Boyd and Lucinda

    in Lifestyle

George Martorano is the longest-serving first-time non-violent offender in the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 1988.

In 1984, on the advice of his attorney Robert Simone, Martorano pled guilty to 19 counts of drug possession and distribution. Martorano was subsequently advised by both the prosecution and the judge, John Berne Hannum, that this plea could result in a sentence of life without the possibility of parole. The prosecution, however, had only recommended a sentence of from 40 to 54 months. On September 20, 1984, Martorano was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, the longest prison term ever imposed on a first-time non-violent offender in American history. One of the harshest sentences ever handed out.

George Martorano is a writer and speaker. After serving 32 years of his life sentence for a non-violent crime he has been released in Oct 2015.  His aim, as a free man, is to pass to others what he has learned through his unique experience, and to help. We are proud to say that George used The Streets Don't Love You Back Book to teach from in Prison since 2010.

Martorano has distinguished himself during his decades. In addition to being a "model" prisoner, Martorano is considered one of the most prolific writers in the Federal Prison System, having authored more than 31 books. He has also written numerous short stories, screenplays and poems. He recently published a self-help booklet for inmates entitled the "ShotCaller. He has developed a creative writing course - "The Write to Life" - which has assisted numerous inmate in earning GEDs and developing creative writing skills. was one of the first – if not the first – inmate in the FBOP system to exercise his First Amendment rights digitally, by publishing his works.

Monique Taylor with Boyd and Lucinda

    in Lifestyle

Monique Newell Taylor was born and raised on the East Side of Kansas City, Missouri. She had a traumatic childhood that included violence, sexual abuse, alcoholism, and an eating disorder that started at age five and lasted until she turned 40. She was 21 years old when she started out on a journey of drug addiction that would last over two decades and take her down roads and to places that no one could have ever imagined she would go.

Over 65 arrests with four of them being felonies to include; prostitution, auto theft, commercial burglary, habitual shoplifter, transporting 90 pounds of Marijuana crossing the Tijuana border, unlawful felony possession of cocaine arrest in the notorious Mc Arthur park by dirty Cops from the Rampart Division Scandal in the 90’s,forgery and last but not least participating in a bank robbery. Her addiction took her across the United States on a drug hungered crime spree that lasted for over two decades. Her story shows how violence and addiction ravaged her family for three generations with sibling and children who were involved in murder, by self defense. It seemed like she was as addicted to Bad Boys and unhealthy relationships as bad as she was the drugs. Choosing men who drug her down time and time again.

Today she has turned her life over to God and has not used crack for seven years. God healed her relationships with her children and family, she is newlywed to a Pastor who was widowed with 3 small children. She wishes to share her story of God’s Grace as she was a woman who hated herself, abandoned her children, was in and out of prison, whose parents never gave up on her.  And now that she finally has a happy ending, she would like to share, inspire and give hope to others.

Getting Back Out There: Secrets to Successful Dating & Finding Real Love

    in Relationships

Overcoming a breakup can be a real challenge. Often, to be successful in the next relationship, we must understand the parts of us that broke up, too. Learning to recognize, evaluate, and change the negative patterns that repeatedly show up in our relationships is hard, but with some research, introspection, and practice, it’s possible to take a step forward and get back out there. As with anything, re-entering the dating scene is a process. In Getting Back Out There, a sequel of sorts to her book Getting Past Your Break Up, Susan J. Elliott outlines the pains and gains inherent in facing the dating scene again. With insight into the “Five Rs”—Readiness, Rejection, Recycling, Rebounding, and Retreating—Elliott illuminates the bumps we can expect on the road to a new relationship, and shows us how to cope with them. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer, talks to author, Susan Elliot about her best-selling book, Getting Back Out There: Secrets to Successful Dating and Finding Real Love after the Big Breakup. The Interpersonal Connection ~ The Love Connection ~

    in Motivation

Encouraging and Inspirational Words of Wisdom, Spirit and Life To Help Strengthen You Spiritually, Emotionally, Physically, Socially, Mentally and Economically. Love is strong and it strengthens because Love Is Real. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is Love! 1 Corinthians 13:13 + LENT + The Season of Preparation For The Resurrection of Jesus 2016. Lent is a period of time between Ash Wednesday and Easter that is focused towards spiritual purification, meditation and penance. The reason Lent is 40 days is because 40 is a significant number in Christian scriptures, but the most notable is perhaps that Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the desert in preparation for his ministry. Lent in 2016 will start on Wednesday, the 10th of February and will continue until Thursday, the 24th of March.

Feb. 11, 2016, 10pm (PST) - Finding Love for Valentines with Janie Terrazas

    in Paranormal

Since it's so close to Valentines, and people from all over the world search for that special someone, we bring Janie Terrazas back to Spaced Out Radio, as she, along with husband Luis, are the Love Coaches. www.thelovecoaches.com. Together, they help mend hearts, and can help people, more importantly, find the value in themselves to have the confidence to find that special someone.

Janie has faced many adversities, heartaches and unfortunate circumstances when it came to relationships, career and life in general. When I discovered that we play a big part in creating our own trials and tribulations it was the start of a MAJOR AWAKENING!

Through a wide variety of studies, meditation and a lot of soul searching, I found the secrets to changing my life for the better. In the process, I found my light (my true self) and discovered how to tap into the most inner part of a man’s heart. I am passionate about sharing this knowledge with other women, so they too can find their light and experience extraordinary love.

I, like most, believed if I had the ideal job, the ideal relationship, financial success, etc. I would be happy. The hard cold truth is nothing external can bring you internal happiness. I am committed to making a conscious choice every day to be loving, happy, and grateful regardless of what life throws my way.

It isn’t an easy mentality to master, but it is possible. More and more people are waking up and recognizing that happiness is a choice…a state of mind. We are grateful that we get to assist others with cleansing their minds and opening their hearts, so they too can experience DIVINE LOVE!

Don't Give Up - Keep Your Faith

    in Romance

Hello to all my Peri Broadcasting Friends who listens to me even when I am not here .. I truly appreciate the love!  This really going to be short and sweet .. I don't have to write a lot because the broadcast will basically do the speaking .. I was just sitting and deciding to say a couple of words because life really touches my heart a lot of times .. WE tend to go through so many ups and downs but sometimes people just cannot understand how to keep going .. Life is not easy and I truly understand the battles.  A lot of times we must take baby steps through it all. My life have been everything but easy.  I just believe so much in my heart that GOD will carry us as long as we believe.  I remembered going through one of the most tragic year of my life.  I could do nothing but believe that the pain was not going to last.  I was carried through all those losses all at once.  My heart felt as if someone just took it out and the pain was great! I had nothing but faith and that's what kept me on a daily basis .. AS I prefer myself to help amily who was grieving and near depression .. I took my grief to help them and at night I would just balled up and cry knowing that my heavenly father was my healer through it all.  This was the beginning of a life without a lot of my beloved family.  I took the losses as a motivation for me to keep going because their lives was a testiment to me .. I knew in my heart the great fight they had fought and how they lived.  The way they loved life and people keep me from drowning in sorrow because I knew they would not want that..  So today I felt like sharing some love to those hurting and searching .. Allow yourself to grow within ..I hope you get something out of this even if it's just one word . Thank you so much for listening .. God Bless!
