Speak Life Radio ~ Remembering African American History!

Blessings family and welcome back to another amazing show. When most people think about African American History, the first thing that comes to mind is slavery right? Well our History is much richer and goes deeper than that, we were and still are a Great people with great minds and a fascinating culture. Unfortunately not much of our history is taught in school but that shouldn't stop us from learing it and teaching it to our youth! God says, "My People Perish For Lack Of Knowledge" and that's exactly whats happening to our people because we have no idea how great we are nor do we realize all that we have contributed to society.

Here are some Important and Famous African Americans you may or may not know: Benjamin Banneker ~1731-1806 Astronomer, clockmaker, publisher. Phillis Wheatly ~ 1753-1784 Poet, one of the first African American poets whose works were published. Frederick Douglass ~ 1818-1895 Abolitionist, editor, orator, author, statesman, reformer. Harriet Tubman ~ 1820-1913 writer, abolitionist, as an ablitionist, she acted as intelligance gather, refugee organizer, raid leader, nurse, revival speaker, and fund raiser. This is just a few but I pray this will give you a taste to study more!!!!

We are very pleased to have as guest tonight Mr. Donald L Dowridge jr ~ Historian, Motivational Guru, Founder of DLD (Determined to Learn and Develop) Enterprises and Founder of the DLD Black History Museum. Please join us plus invite others.

Melchizedek Gospel—Response Among the Hebrews (Part 5)

    in Religion

A great step in the evolution of the tribal god of the Hebrews was taken by Amos, who was not merely a restorer or reformer; he was a discoverer of new concepts of Deity.  Hosea followed Amos and proclaimed a gospel of loving-kindness, though he faithfully continued with moral warnings to the Israelites.  The first Isaiah went on to preach the eternal nature of God, his infinite wisdom, his unchanging perfection of reliability.

Part 2 God's Generals and a Word to Up & Coming Leaders w/Roberts Liardon

    in Christianity

Part 2 - Dr. Roberts Liardon, namesake of Oral Roberts, had a significant, second encounter with Jesus at age 12-1/2. It was then he received a commission to study the lives of God's Generals. Jesus told him that there will come a generation that will need to know why the Generals succeeded and why some failed. The God's Generals series allows us to to learn from these great heros of faith and to discover spiritual treasures.

Showcased in Part 2 are Generals: William Seymour and Maria Woodworth-Etter-two unlikely people chosen in an unlikely era to shake cities and nations with revival. Daddy Seymour ushered in revival during the time of the Jim Crow Laws, which were rigid anti-black and racial segregation laws.  Maria (Mother) Etter ushered in revival when women preachers were not accepted.  Liardon states that it was like God said, "Take that!".... you religious vipers!

Dr. Liardon has a heart to mentor a new generation of leaders that will change history for the coming revival. He speaks a powerful, NOW word to the up & coming world shakers -- with a special shout out to the youth and women!!
