Dana White - The Red Suitcase

    in Movies

"The Red Suitcase is a mother/daughter road movie. Ruth Whitney, a stoic, woman in her mid sixties whose husband unexpectedly abandoned her six years prior, quietly struggles to cope amidst a shattered world of financial and emotional adversity.  Once well-off, with a successful husband and close family, Ruth now lives in a dilapidated summerhouse in rural New Jersey, works a minimum-wage job in a local motel, and clings to her rigid and sometimes comical daily regimen. Meanwhile, her daughter Liz, a phobia-prone late thirty-something, is attempting to finish her PhD. in California, hoping to support both herself and her mother. Worried about her mother’s worsening situation, Liz convinces Ruth to move out west and begin a new life. Ruth agrees, but not without reluctance, as she tacitly carries with her a Red Suitcase full of her estranged husband’s clothes. In a beat-up station wagon filled to the brim, Ruth, Liz and their cat begin an odyssey across America. Full of humorous adventures, colorful characters and dramatic revelations, the trip continually tests Ruth’s wavering resolve to start again."

Badgers, Wildcats, Blue Devils, Spartans reach Final Four, recap of the Elite 8

    in Sports

In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will recap all of the Elite 8 games.  Four teams were cutting down nets, as they won they region: Wisconsin Badgers, Kentucky Wildcats, Michigan State Spartans, and the Duke Blue Devils.

Wisconsin struggled shooting, once again, in the first half. The second half was a different story, as it seemed, the Badgers could not miss from behind the arc.  Arizona stayed in this game by getting to the foul line; 30 times, and out rebounding the Badgers by one.  Sam Dekker iced the game, with a high arching three pointer with 20 seconds left, making the score 84-76.

Kentucky remained perfect, only after Andrew Harrison made two free throws, with 6 seonds left. Jerian Grant missed a three pointer from the corner, as time expired. In a back and forth game, Kentucky outlasted the Irish, 68-66.

Tom Izzo is going back to the Final Four, for the seventh time. Louisville and Michigan State gave the fans, an extra five minutes, of basketball. As the media talked to Travis Trice, Denzel Valentine, and Brandon Dawson, without sharp shooter Bryn Forbes, the Spartans may have been watching the Final Four, from Lansing, MI. Forbes made 4 or 6 three pointers and finished with 14 points.

All-American Jahill Okafor was held to 9 points, on 4 of 10 shooting. However, the other four starters all scored, in double digits.  Led by Justise Winslow and Matt Jones, with 16.  Like Forbes, the Blue Devils should be putting the microphone, in Jones corner.  He buried 4 of 7 three pointers, and the Blue Devils took control of this game late, and never looked back.

    in Politics Conservative

    On tonight's show:

With the state budget approaching a final passage, the issue of tax relief takes center stage.  We'll discuss.

A new report shows the O'Malley health care exchange bilked tens of millions from US taxpayers leaving yet another mess for the Hogan administration to clean up.

With doctor assisted suicide bills reaching votes in Annapolis, I share (and skewer) an absurd editorial on the subject in a local Maryland paper.

Wesley J. Smith suggests we celebrate electricity instead of "Earth Day". I agree.
