Ask Dr. Applewhite About Disability and Depression at School and Work

    in Education

Can you share an explanation of why mental disorders and suicides have increased among Student Veterans and other Adult Learners? Most critical is how teachers at all levels are identifying and addressing violent and aggressive behavior, mood disorders, and suicidal tendencies. The American Psychological Association states that “untreated depression can lead to suicide”.  This is cause for alarm, specifically with Student Veterans who are balancing disability issues, in addition to family, school, and work schedules. Special Guest Dr. Beverly Poellnitz, Educator, Entrepreneur. Your donation of at least $5 or more will support our radio broadcasts, and allow us to continue helping Adult Learners/Students and Veterans with disabilities reach their education and workforce goals? Snow Days, Cold Days, and Other Reasons Kids Get The Day Off

    in Lifestyle

The Big Dawg barks about this current winter and the days kids have missed due to wintry weather. Some were clearly justified, some not so much.  The Dawg will look at the issue from several angles including the perspective of someone that grew up in the 80's when snow days were rare. Have we made our kids soft with so many days off? Are school adminstrators just being overly cautious? Let's see if we can rattle a few chains with this one.

    The American Council of Witches

    in Spirituality

Lady Destiny and Mistress Dax look into the topic of the American Concil of Witches (ACoW). A group of people that have started a facebook page in Jan of 2015.

A look at the ACoW: Their first announcement on the page was "American Council of Witches 2015 is now being formed. Stay tuned."

Their page description is as follows: A discussion group that works both in public and private to further the conversation of Witchcraft in America.

Though it appears they are not limited to just disussing things online with the witch community but look to be "the voice" of witches. On Feb 20th  Elwin La Fae Herman the chairwoman for the American Council of Witches 2015. It quoted in stating "The core concept of this Council is to discuss not only the 13 principles, but who we are and how we live in today’s world."

On Feb. 2nd it was announced by ACoW "The Council will officially convene on March first. While discussions have already started, no one is an official council member until this date."

Many in the pagan/witch/wiccan community have expressed over and over that they were horrified at the concept of a "witches council" that thinks it speaks for others beliefs for them. When there's no way they could comprehend someone else's beliefs. Especially given their outspoken position against Christian's, Satainist's and those that do not follow the Wiccan tradition.

So before this appears to become offical or public we will talk about our thoughts on the subject of a council.

    Lakota Heart -N- Soul

    in Spirituality

The topics of this show are based on Lakota Star Knowledge and may include viewing current events from the Ancient Lakota perspective. This show's objective is perpetuate peace among all people, as the foundation of all universes is based on "Mitakuye Oyas'in". The Lakota Star Knowledge definition of "Mitakuye Oyas'in" is that before you can be at peace with all the relatives throughout all universes, you must first have peace among all the relatives within your own inner universe. The mind, body, soul and emotions are all connected to each other. When you do your best in nurturing these four parts, you will establish peace within yourself. Only then are you able to be at peace with all creation around you.

Scott Roberts: The Rise and Fall of the Nephilim

    in News

The Rise and Fall of the Nephilim

"If you've gone to Sunday school and read Genesis, you've no doubt encountered the mystery of the Nephilim, the strange giants whose offspring mated with the offspring of Adam and Eve. Who were these creatures and how did they get here? The Rise and Fall of the Nephilim... is sure to challenge your beliefs and get you to look at the other side of Creation."
--Bill Birnes, publisher, UFO magazine; The History Channel's Ancient Aliens

The ancient books of Genesis and Enoch tell us that sprit beings known as the Watchers descended to the Earth, had sex with women, and begat a hybrid race of offspring known as the Nephilim.

Such tales are as old as humanity itself. These histories and accounts of visitations and subsequent mixed-blood, alien-human races comprise the bulk of the world's myths, legends, religions, and superstitions.

The Rise and Fall of the Nephilim examines:

Elohim and the Bene Ha Elohim--God and the Sons of God
The Watchers: UFOs, extraterrestrials, angels, infiltrators, and impregnators
Biblical and apocryphal sources from Enoch to Moses
The role of the Fae, Elves, Elementals, and ancient gods

What if the old spiritualities and religions weren't just legends?

What if there was something living and breathing beneath the surface, a tangible interlinking of religious thought and spirituality, science and myth, inter-dimensionality and cold, hard fact?

The Nephilim walked among us... and still do today.

    Dolores Manzanares

    in History

Today my guest is Dolores Manzanares, who  will share her experiences working with bands in California

    Dolores Manzanare's Bio

1951 - 1960: Began singing in church choir, school chorus in grade school, middle school and high school.

1960 - 1965 Joined a band and we played mostly Rock and Oldies But Goodies (5 years)

    1965 - 1975 Took a break and raised a family.

1975 - 1990 Returned to college, took singing classes, and formed a band of my own, "The 2002 Band." I studied to become an educator and worked on week-ends with my band. I was the lead singer and we played throughout Southern California for various groups and organizations, fund-raisers, weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, hospital Christmas parties, New Year's Parties, and played for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios.

We played all genres of music from Oldies to Swing, ballads, latin music, polkas, tangos, waltzes, fox trot, rock and disco.

I was able to juggle raising my two boys, attending college, graduated in 1981 with my Bachelor's and a Teaching Credential in Bilingual Education, then, my Master's Degree, also in Bilingual Education in 1988. I continued to perform with my band until 1990, at which time, I felt I needed to just focus on my teaching career. I totaled 20 years as a vocalist and musical percussionist. I thoroughly enjoyed entertaining groups and organizations throughout Southern California.

I must say that Teaching and a Musical Career were two very rewarding careers for me. I was able to sing on television, radio, and record at a recording studio, at age 21. Those were exciting times for me.
