In this episode, we'll spotlight the incredible power of taking something meant for harm and turning it into something good. Molly McDonald, Founder and President of The Pink Fund, will share her mission to remedy the financial wrath of cancer.
Molly's diagnosis came as a complete surprise. With no family history and 13 years of clear mammograms, she never considered the possibility that an annual check up would reveal breast cancer. Being in the midst of transitioning jobs and insurance coverage, she began asking questions of healthcare providers. She quickly learned there was no clear solution to help alleviate patients' financial stress.
In 2006, armed with financial and disease statistics, and corporate knowledge, Molly set out to make a viable difference with "The Pink Fund." Granted nationwide recognition and sponsorship to include the Ford Motor Company's "Warriors in Pink" designation, her vision continues to grow. In fact, this fiscal year 248 individuals in 40 states received financial assistance!
Molly’s determination to magnify giving forward has been highlighted in The Detroit Free Press and labeled as the Business Superstar of the Week.
Listen, call in and live-chat to meet Molly alongside our more than 20,000 listeners.

Fears over the health of China's economy kept world markets on edge this week and the country will remain in focus, along with the question of whether the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates next month.
Those concerns sent world stocks, commodities and currencies on a roller-coaster ride this week, and purchasing manager surveys due on Tuesday are expected to show manufacturing contracted during August in the world's second-biggest economy.
Federal Reserve officials who are most anxious to hike interest rates said on Friday that continued turmoil in financial markets may cause the central bank to delay tightening monetary policy beyond next month, even though the U.S. economy remains strong.
Joining the broadcast to discuss the economy, bond prices, the Fed and housing is Brent Nyitray, Director of Capital Markets at iServe Residential Lending.
Brent is responsible for managing iServe’s origination pipeline and Ginnie Mae securitizations. Prior to iServe, Brent was an analyst and trader at several hedge funds as well as ran the European Risk Arbitrage trading desk at Bear Stearns. Brent is also the author of The Daily Tearsheet, a blog focused on the economy, financial markets and real estate.

Please join host Frankie Picasso for a very special show on Thursday August 27th when my guest is Police Constable Gareth Ward who is campaigning diligently to help his super hero buddy, 5 year old Luke Brewer and family fly to America where Luke will be treated for cancer in October.
Luke was recently diagnosed with Rabdomysocoma, a type of sarcoma that attacks connective tissue and usually hits children 1 to 5 years old. As treatment is unavailable in the UK, Luke and his family need to come to the USA and the course of therapy will take 7 weeks.
Gareth hopes to raise enough to bring the family for treatment and have a little left over to send Luke to Disneyland as a special treat for the brave little man.
To date, Gareth has been able to raise a little over £1000, but this is still a long way off the target of £2000 he needs.
In addition to the Go Fund ME site: http://gofundme.com/lukethesuperhero Gareth is also planning to raise money by participating in a 9bar9x9 running event in Luke’s name. This is an 81km endurance run held in Guildford, Kent, UK, on 10 October and Gareth will be running it in full police gear weighing approximately 42 lbs. In addition to all of this, Gareth also designed some amazing super hero wrist bands that are also a fund raiser and can be purchased on Facebook by going to https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=427589130758195&id=232219716961805
Please join us to help raise money for Luke and CALL US to send your POSITIVE MESSAGES of LOVE to Luke who I know will listen to the show and love to hear your words of encouragement.
The Pink Tax. It doesn't sound very intimidating, but it's costing women thousands of dollars, and they don't even know it.
How do you break up with a Friend? Huh? Also, when did texting with a period mean angry/pissed?
Listen in to our first WORLD TOUR segment, with our first stop in the Lebanon covering the YouStink movement, and an update on Tianjin, China.
On the August 26, 2015 episode of Liberal Dan Radio the first half of the hour will be a random discussion of various topics from the past week. Open lines too if you have anything that you would like to discuss. Some topics include the bizarre notion that liberals are racist for supporting gun control and Donald Trump kicking a Hispanic member of the press out of his press conference.
Then at the bottom half of the hour I welcome on Jeffrey, author of one of the best New Orleans blogs: Library Chronicles (or as some call it, the Yellow Blog). He will be on to discuss more of #RisingTideX. It should definitely be an interesting show.
Those topics plus headlines, tweet of the week, and more at 8pm Central on Liberal Dan Radio: Talk From The Left, That's Right.
Remember that you can always contribute to the program by donating at the Liberal Dan Radio GoFundMe page. You an also help fund Rising Tide by clicking on their GoFundMe page as well.

The Mackin Project was started in 2010 and incorporated in 2012 after the founder, Tanisha D. Mackin lost her husband to gun violence in August 2010. As a result she founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The organization focuses on helping families that lost loved ones to the act of violence by providing some financial assistance, widows relief and widows talk during their time of need. We provide help with some funeral expenses such as obituaries, headstone, and etc. We use personal funds as well as donations to help fund our project and cause.
Also as aresult to her families lost, her son wrote and book titled "Fatherless Son" in this story he expresses his experience losing a loved one. The tragic life event has encouraged the family to empower others and teach others how to overcome loss. Today she will be sharing her experince amd empowering and teaching us "How to Overcome".

In partnership with The Collective Heart, a non-profit founded by the late Debbie Ford & the Just Like My Child foundation are stepping up to support "The Girl Power Project". Feminine Power, lead by Claire Zammit, is helping to fund this year-long program to empower girls in Uganda, with the goal of creating 10,000 leaders who can empower more girls in other communities across Africa—creating a ripple effect of sustainable positive change. Presently the goal has been upgraded to 1,000,000 empowered girls and women.
We passionately believe in protecting the rights of children. That’s why Just Like My Child is investing in one of the most effective ways to create a shift at the grass roots level – life skills and mentoring training for hundreds of girls who are now bold enough to look you in the eye, strong enough to state their rights, free enough to rise to their full potential as they lead their country forward.
This weeks All About Vets radio show will feature Sarah Stoltman and Cara Mae Melton. These ladies are doing fabulous things with HBOT in the VA Beach, VA area.
Sarah Stoltman started her career as a commercial diver and dive medic back in 2007. After doing offshore construction for a year and a half in the Gulf of Louisiana, she decided that was not what she wanted to do but had an interest in what else she could do with the hyperbaric chamber. She found a clinic near by and started working for world renown Dr. Paul Harch and got to be involved with the first pilot study for HBOT and TBI/PTSD. After seeing the results she became hooked and became a certified hyperbaric technician and safety director. Since then she has been involved in the research and hospital aspect of hyperbaric oxygen, as well as starting a clinic from scratch and now co owns Hampton Roads Hyperbaric Therapy. She has treated over three thousand patients and had a strong relationship with several clinics around the country. Her next goal is to get a mobile chamber so she can treat veterans in different cities of Virginia.
Hampton Roads Hyperbaric Therapy opened in January of 2014. The clinic was purchased by Sarah Stoltman and Cara Mae Melton Jan 2015. HRHBOT treats neurological injuries as well as chronic pain, pre and post surgery and nerve damage.
Sarah and Cara Mae founded Heal the Warriors, a non profit organization to help fund active military personnel, veterans, and first responders with traumatic brain injury using hyperbaric oxygen.
If you have questions about the HBOT treatments or how to contact a chamber call us during the show 646 595-3504.
Sam Thurman, Cliff Stewart, Lisa Stewart and Lamont Banks of the Colorado exoneration firm A Just Cause, discuss what happens when the wheels of justice trample unbridled over the rights of innocent Americans.
Although the American system of justice is the most-respected worldwide, it is still a system designed, and operated, by humans, which means it's not perfect. Sam, Cliff, Lisa and Lamont will highlight ongoing struggles against "the system" to free wrongfully imprisoned people, and what happens when justice miscarries against an actually innocent person.
A Just Cause is currently campaigning for "FreeTheIRP6," who's been wrongly imprisoned in Florence, CO for a crime they didn't commit. Read full story: www.freetheirp6.org.
