Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1963, Louis Pappas began his career on stage with the Drexel Hill Players in 1971. Also an accomplished pianist, he studied classical piano at Settlement Music School. In 1979, he moved to South Florida where he attended Broward College furthering his music education and taking creative writing. In 2004, he founded Angry Pig Productions with the idea of using the camera to bring about social change. His first film, "Off Ramps," a documentary dealing with the issue of the criminalization of the homeless population in his town, had a successful run being selected in five festivals out of only seven submissions. Since that time, he has written and directed several short films winning festival accolades and awards all over the world.
In recent years, Louis has also returned to acting, and has booked roles in several films including: "The Shift," starring Danny Glover, and "The Last Hit," where he plays the lead, a hitman who saves a young girl from a ruthless gangster.

Over the last couple of months the spotlight has been on the NFL to address the numerous past and current reports involving violence against women from NFL players. While this is not a new conversation or dynamic, it has risen to a level that is demanding an immediate and appropriate response.
Recognizing that nearly 70% of the NFL players are Black and the face of this reoccurring violence is portrayed as representing the also disproportional intimate partner violence that is experience in the Black community over all, we will convene a discussion to address the role of the Black community and particularly Black women in helping to frame a culturally competent response from the NFL? We will also discuss the Black community perception of "whooping," our children and the need for this punishment?
