What is it about the paranormal that appeals to us? Those things that go bump in the night? Those brushes of unexplained cold air? What about waking up suddenly and sensing something is there although you can't see it? How about stories of haunted houses and lingering spirts? What about footage of the unexplainable?
In some way we are spellbound by paranormal seduction. The movie, Paranormal Activity exploits our fascination with the unexplainable and titillates with our 'what happens when we close our eyes'? Movies like The Exocerist get deeper into the happenings of the spirtual realm. As adults, we watch these movies and we think on them. Perhaps we make decisions to go in deeper.
However, there is an underlying sense of the occult in this paranormal seduction that whispers to us via books, movies, shows, or games. If it is strong enough to seduce the mature, adult brain, what about our children? How does this occultic seduction affect them?
Join me as we talk about this issue with Marcia Montenegro. She is the author of the book Spellbound: The Paranormal Seduction of Today's Kids. The book's information comes from Marcia's many years of participation in New Age, Eastern, and occult beliefs; her practice as a professional astrologer for 8 of those years, including teaching astrology; extensive reading and research of New Age and occult materials; and experiences and contacts she had in the New Age/occult community for over 15 years. Additionally, since becoming a Christian, Marcia's knowledge in these areas has been supplemented by her contacts, reading, and research through her ministry, CANA/Christian Answers for the New Age.

This episode of enlighten focuses on the topic of haunted houses.
It can be challenging parenting a child who can see spirits. At first, you may not understand what it is your child is reacting to. Constant nightmares? Pointing to entities you can’t see? Talking to them? Cowering from the shadow people? Or maybe it's you

WEEKLY WORLD TRANSMISSION MEDITATION GROUP, WedNites, 7 – 9 pm (AZT)
EACH HALLOWEEN SEASON for the past ten years the Rolling Darkness Revue, a traveling fraternity of some of horror fiction’s premier talents, has presented an evening of new supernatural stories in celebration of the genre’s favorite holiday. A full theatrical experience which incorporates comedy, drama, and live music to illuminate and enhance the Halloween tradition of ghost story readings, the Revue was founded by Peter Atkins, Dennis Etchison, and Glen Hirshberg in 2004 and has been curated by Atkins & Hirshberg since 2006. The Revue began performing in bookstores, libraries, and parking lots, making the move to small theatres in 2009 as the show grew in nature (and audience). As well as becoming an October ritual for fans and readers, RDR has received glowing notices from, among others, the Los Angeles Times and National Public Radio’s Weekend Edition. Stories which have premiered at the Revue have many times been selected for inclusion in annual ‘Year’s Best’ anthologies from such noted editors as Ellen Datlow, Stephen Jones, and Paula Guran, and guest authors over the life of the show have included such genre and mainstream notables as Norman Partridge, Nancy Holder, Aimee Bender, Michael Blumlein, and Kim Newman. From the beginning, live music has been provided by the noted local ambient musicians Jonas Yip & Rex Flowers and, since 2009, acclaimed local actor Kevin Gregg has become an invaluable part of the cast. PETER ATKINS: Author of Morningstar, Big Thunder, Rumours of the Marvellous, and the movies Wishmaster and Hellraiser II-IV. “Atkins is a brilliant supplier of shudders and splendors” – Clive Barker. GLEN HIRSHBERG: Award-winning author of The Two Sams, American Morons, and Motherless Child. “A writer to watch and treasure” – Peter Straub.

Snoodlovah A.K.A LOVAH LOVAH, is an upcoming female Hip Hop artist. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and has have lived in PA for 10 years. Her mother is hispanic, and her father is french and African American. As the only child from her parents growing up she had a lot of alone time, which gave her space to find out who she was at a pretty young age. She can say that she had a pretty fair childhood, it was only when she turned 14 that life began to show its true colors. In learning so, she had to toughen up and roll with the punches. Composing music has been her life since the age of ten. She started off battling her younger family members and ever since then it became her passion to speak through instruments. As she grew with her love for music, she found a hidden talent that she never knew. She was blessed remembering her mother cleaning her home from top to bottom every Saturday morning while playing her R&B music loudly. Snoodlovah would stand in the middle of the living room performing all her favorites songs. When her mother wasn’t cleaning she would play the R&B songs at a low volume and sing over the artist. It was then, Snoodylovah knew from that point, she wanted to sing,
Eager to start her singing career, unfortunately at the age of 11, while visiting her grandmother in PA one summer, Snoodlovah had a life threatening accident in the local amusement park (Dorney Park). She drowned in the wave pool and damaged her voice box. During recovery, she became discourage to even think about music, however after a couple months she realized this wasn’t the end and had to find a way to express herself and music was the only way. In addition to Snoodlovah’s singing career, she has engaged in many theater, screen plays and improv.
