Steamboat Springs, CO – We do our very best to keep the negative aspects of ourselves, our shadow, hidden and repressed. Like holding a balloon under water, you try to push it beneath the surface, but it wants to burst out of the water. Inevitably it will.
Even though we may not appreciate our shadow, it’s one of the most important components of our being.
Megan Sisk is the founder of Soul Speak integrative Life Coaching where she works with individuals to radically change their life through the revolutionary Breakthrough Shadow Coaching. Developed by Debbie Ford of the Ford Institute, Breakthrough Shadow Coaching allows you to face your Shadow Self and embrace the gifts and wisdom it has come to offer.
“It’s not about getting rid of our shadows,” says Megan. “It’s about learning to love them. In order to walk into the light, you’ve got to go through the dark. When people are willing to face their shadows they realize they can love those parts of themselves too.”
According to Megan, we build up our strengths by finding the gifts in our weaknesses. Until we confront that part of ourselves, our strength is merely a façade. Megan takes her clients deep into their shadows.
In addition to shadow coaching, Megan also employs a modality known as “Healing Your Heart.” The program supports and guides you to bring love and peace back into your relationships - with others as well as with yourself.
Says Megan: “The reason I call it Soul Speak Integrative Life Coaching is because it is true mind and soul work.”

Jaemellah Kemp, a Georgia native schooled in the greater Washington, DC area is the proud mother of Brandein Krystopher and also the CEO, Founder and President of IT TAKES TWO, INC.
Ms. Kemp holds an associate’s degree in Business Administration and bachelors in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. She obtained her masters in Nonprofit & Association Management from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) May 2014.
She also possesses eleven years of customer service experience and has worked in the telecommunications, publishing, and nonprofit industries to perfect her craft. She is the Director, Member Services Operations at the U.S. Naval Institute; an Annapolis based nonprofit association that focuses on preserving the history of the nation’s sea services.
Ms. Kemp’s tenacity, drive, determination, and willingness to help others cumulated into the birth of IT TAKES TWO, INC, a 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that awards scholarships to students living in single parent homes. As a single mother she understands the financial and emotional strains associated with one parent and one income households. IT TAKES TWO, INC is her ministry to pay it forward by relieving the financial burden associated with back to school costs. Her commitment to our youths’ education is expertly displayed through various workshops that address topics such as bullying, financial literacy, how to find and apply for scholarships, and effective resume writing and interview etiquette skills.
Ms. Kemp is emphatic about her "God given vision to Create Tomorrow’s Leaders Today," not only with her own child but also with today’s youth. In her own words and style, "IT truly does TAKE TWO!"
Leadership. It is a word that has less and less meaning in mainstream American society these days, and is often confused with "Management," which it is not. Leadership is the uncommon virtue and skillset which allows one person to convince and guide others towards a common goal. In no way a science, Leadership is nevertheless a craft and skill which does have elements which can be taught. This is particularly important in military organizations, where Leadership is often a life or death matter in combat. However, Leadership is also vital to the establishment and sustainment of chains of command, without which any military organization will collapse upon itself and be destroyed. And while Leadership is more of an art form than simply a set of rules to follow, defining it is often difficult. Therefore, one finds Leadership as a topic being discussed in professional military journals across the globe, in almost every written language. One such journal is the U.S. Naval Institute (USNI) Proceedings which, since 1883, has provided naval-minded individuals with a open forum to express ideas, opinions, and thoughts regarding a variety of topics, especially Leadership in the sea services.
To learn more how Leadership is defined, join best-selling author, historian, documentary filmmaker and host John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) for Military Monday (#MilitaryMonday on the Writestream Radio Network (@Writestream)) at 1 PM EDT. His guess this week is U.S. Naval Institute Press (@USNI_Books) editor Thomas J. Cutler, who is managing the creation of USNI's new "Wheel Book" series. One of these is Naval Leadership, edited by Cutler, a collection of Proceedings essays on the subject by a variety of well-known naval leaders.
