In August, cartoonist Aaron McGruder, creator of the infamous Boondocks comic strip and cartoon series will premier a new show titled "Black Jesus" on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim time slot. The comedy parody show features a live action series of Jesus as a black man in Compton, CA. This show has brought about good and negative publicity for AS and McGruder, but how should black pastors engage the show and the viewers? Is the show any more offensive than Jesus Christ Superstar, Tyler Perry's Madea series, or even George Burns' O God movie series?

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive iT, And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

It Pays To Serve The Lord Matt. 20: 1-16
Eric Rogers, Ph.D., Pastor-Teacher of the Church Without Walls Chicago shares the gospel message " It Pays To Serve The Lord).
In an age and stage in life and human history, Christians (those who have been born again and washed in the blood of the Lamb) often wonder and reflect on whether it really does pay to serve God. When peace seems unobtainable, joy inaccessible, injustice unstoppable and the rise and decline of marriages, families, relationships and the desire to live life and life more abundantly, there is a cry for hope, help and healing among God's people to know that God is still in control.
The God we serve has promised that we shall wear a crown. We shall run and not get weary and walk and not faint. In it all and through it all, we are called upon to run this race with patience and to lay aside every weight that so easily besets us. We must look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (and not reality t.v., talk shows, social media, the world, etc.)
After all our light afflictions are only for a moment but they worketh for us a greater eternal weight in glory. We do not look at the things which are seen (for they are only temporary) but we look to those things which are not seen, for they are eternal.
God is worthy to be praised and we are to finish our course. God will receive the glory and we will receive the victory.
It really does pay to serve the Lord. Because he shall and he will wipe away all tears from our eyes and there will be no more suffering, no more pain, no more sorrow, no more crying and dying.
Praise God !
We open with an interview with author, Doris I. Mangrum, whose A Soiled Identity: From Triumph to Tragedy and Back Again, tells the story of Darnell Cookson, former Marine and former felon as he rejoins society. However, this is not a typical rehabilitation story. Told in the protagonist's voice as if we were seated in his home one evening getting to know one another, we meet Darnell just as he arrives home from prison to new wife, new child and many relationships he has to restore, like that between he and his two older daughters by a prior marriage, and his kid brother who is making a bit too much money fast. Darnell tries to hold his head up when applications are rejected and interviews have no follow-up calls, but it is hard. Darnell's reentry is a community venture; each chapter ends with what Mangrum calls, "Choice Moments" where her audience gets to imagine a "what if?" In "Live Your Life," the reader is invited to learn from Darnell's experiences while we also gear up to participate in an "Idea Infusion," which per chapter is a way to make the returning veteran or prisoner feel welcome and supported (171). In his new article, Peter ask the question as to whether the United States of America is involved in the UFO/Alien Business. In a very revealing examination, he looks at the development of advanced high technology built on the legacy of the Top Secret Nazi "Black Projects," following the end of World War II.
Every American needs to understand that the entire national press is controlled, and is simply giving you the "news" you are supposed to have. "In order to put public opinion into our hands we must bring it into a state of bewilderment by giving expression from all sides to so many contradictory opinions and for such length of time as will suffice to make the [average person] lose their heads in the labyrinth and come to see that the best thing is to have no opinion of any kind, in matters political." Unacceptable Levels examines the results of the chemical revolution of the 1940s through the eyes of affable filmmaker Ed Brown, a father seeking to understand the world in which he and his wife are raising their children. To create this debut documentary, one man and his camera traveled extensively to find and interview top minds in the fields of science, advocacy, and law. Weaving their testimonies into a compelling narrative, Brown presents us with the story of how the chemical revolution brought us to where we are, and of where, if we’re not vigilant, it may take us.
Over 80,000 chemicals flow through our system of commerce, and many are going straight into our bodies. Even our unborn children are affected. Due to this constant exposure, we have approximately 200 synthetic industrial chemicals interacting with our cells every single day. Until recently, modern science really didn’t understand what that could mean for all of us in the long run, but that is changing.
Globally, disease rates are on the rise. Theories about the causes abound, yet the issues are complex and often muddied by the maneuvering of political and corporate interests. To explore different facets of common chemical exposure, Unacceptable Levels, was made in consultation with experts in multiple fields and is guided by a father on a personal journey as he attempts to bring these issues to light for everyone. Its primary goal? To determine whether we can prevent disease before it strikes us.
Unacceptable Levels opens the door to conversations about the chemical burden our bodies carry so that we can make informed decisions now and in the future. The film poses challenges to our companies, our government, and our society to do something about a nearly-unseen threat with the inspired knowledge that small changes can generate a massive impact.
