2009 was a fine year for the rock That year indie band OBLIVEA unleashed their first album,
EVIL EMPYRE which top the charts on iHeart Radio, Reverb nation and Myspace.
Selling over 10,000 units off the first release gaining the badge from Amazon.de top
100 sold in Germany.
Working with a similarly limited palette of chords, OBLIVEA tapped into the same primal
rock vein as the band Bush, but whipped their take on the trusty old I-IV-V into a much
raunchier rhythmic pitch and imbued it with an irrepressibly (often hilariously) libidinous
outlook. The music is raw, monomaniacal and full of essential rock spunk.
These past few years OBLIVEA's album continues to sell consistently and the band remains
a solid concert draw. The OBLIVEA Brand is known throughout the world wide web and
continues to grow 50,000,000 strong and counting..
They have been number 1 on, Iheart radio, Photobucket most popular video, top Reverb Nation
artist in the world, featured on Bing, Youtube, Yahoo, AOL, and commercials on
MTV, VH1, ESPN and Spike.
Erich from the The Uptown Band returns to talk about their sophomore album Heart, Soul, Body, & Mind featuring Will Lee, bassist from The Late Show with David Letterman’s CBS Orchestra, trumpet great and founding member of Tower of Power and East Bay Soul, Greg Adams, percussionist Doc Gibbs from The Emeril Live Show on the Food Network, drummer Curtis Harmon of Pieces of a Dream, and the CD’s Producer, bassist Bennie Sims of The Three Degrees.
On stage Ostrich Run relinquishes their carefree attitudes and manifests into the commanding musicians they know they were born to be. Connecting with the audience and thriving on their energy are what perpetuate the band and enable them to express their boisterous personalities. Founded by Anaheim natives, Joel Rowland and Mark Pascale in 2013, Ostrich Run is all about connecting with people through their blend of indie and alternative rock sound.
The duo bonded over their numerous musical influences from as far back as Louis Armstrong, to contemporary artists such as Blink-182, Arcade Fire, and Foster the People. The band has graced the stages of numerous venues including The House of Blues, The Glass House, The Mint LA and more.
Ostrich Run joins Take 2 Radio Music on Wednesday, August 27th at 3pm eastern!

The Virtual gastric Band is a remarkable weight loss programme, and one which Sheila Granger has pioneered in the UK. As the name suggests, the system utilises the concept of a ""virtual” " gastric band and clinical hypnotherapy. It successfully harnesses the power that every individual holds within them to make changes to their lives. Many clients have benefited from The Virtual Gastric Band therapy.
So, what is it?
The Virtual Gastric Band is a non-surgical technique which uses the power of hypnosis to retrain you to be satisfied with smaller amounts of food. It changes how you think about food and gives very safe, very predictable results. The clinical hypnotherapy convinces the brain that the stomach is full after a certain level of intake, and that there is no need for more food.
It is most definitely NOT a diet - we know that diets only work in the short term. The Virtual Gastric Band allows you to eat what you want, but will enable you to intake smaller portions. And, because it’s not a diet, you won’t feel deprived, miserable or hungry, the issues which cause diets to fail. As The Virtual Gastric Band effectively negates these issues, you are left with a long term solution to your weight problems.
The medical procedure reduces the physical size of the stomach, and may achieve the same result, but The Virtual Gastric Band can be undertaken quickly and privately, without the lengthy delay of hospital waiting lists, and of course carries no costly invasive surgery, no risks and no on-going medical treatment.

Alexander O'Neal (born November 15, 1953) is an American R&B singer. He is best known for the songs "If You Were Here Tonight", "Criticize" and "Fake" and the duets with Cherrelle, "Saturday Love" and "Never Knew Love Like This"O'Neal was born in Natchez, Mississippi, but moved to Minneapolis when he was 20. He is an alumnus of Alcorn State University. He joined a group called "The Mystics" and played the local coverband circuit. O'Neal spent a short time in a group "Enterprise" before being recruited into Flyte Tyme, a band that included Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and Monte Moir.
Later signed by Prince to the Warner Bros. label with their name changed to The Time, a disagreement with Prince led to O'Neal leaving the band and being replaced as lead singer by Morris Day. Allmusic profiler John Floyd asserts that O'Neal was ousted for "looking 'too black'",.
O'Neal immediately formed an R&B band called Alexander and recorded a 12" single, "Playroom," for a Chicago-based independent label, followed by the release of "Attitude" on the Rich Records Label. Three years later, in 1984, O'Neal signed a deal with Clarence Avant's Tabu Records. He did some backing vocals for other artists on the same label, including The SOS Band and Cherrelle.
O'Neal released his eponymous debut album in 1985. It included three singles that reached the top twenty of the R&B Singles Chart. The same year, he also scored his first R&B top ten single with "Saturday Love", a duet with Cherrelle from her High Priority album. "Saturday Love" song peaked at #2, and it also reached the top ten of the UK Singles Chart, peaking at #6.

Hailing from coastal Maryland, Jason Morton and Brett Wilmer of The Cheaters, brings a rejuvenating edge as well as class tight harmonies to country music with the release of their new EP Waitin’ On Right Now. The EP showcases the band’s high energy personalities with their lighter-swaying tunes including She’s Got A Way and The Cotton’s Gettin’ High, a party anthem of a good ole southern Saturday night. With enviable talent they have held their own opening for renowned bands such as ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, Eric Church, Shooter Jennings and many others. From entering a contest and being handpicked by Slash as an opening act, to being the only band picked by Paul McCartney’s manager to represent the U.S. in a Lithuanian Music Festival, these guys have rocked with some legends and are ready to show country music what they are made of. They can rock out on guitar like Skynyrd with explosive crescendos but, are still able to sing to the hearts of many with their vulnerable ballads like Eric Church. The Cheaters have sold thousands of records and played over 1,000 shows throughout the U.S.A., in addition to successfully performing in Europe, Guam and Japan.
HICKS (Miqael Persson) is a country singer and an accomplished songwriter. While in Nashville, he was able to co-write with top songwriters Anthony Smith, Dallas Rogers, Dennis Morgan and Sharon Vaughn. He met with his U.S. publisher and learned that a song he wrote ‘Cuts Like A Diamond’ on his last U.S. visit was picked up by the Little River Band. Not only did they record it, but it became the title of their new album to be released in August when they start a nationwide tour of the U.S. to promote it. Other artists such as Jimi Jamison (Survivor), Giant (Dann Huff), Bobby Kimball (Toto), W.E.T (Featuring Jeff Scott Soto), Grammy nominated Toby Hitchcock and many more have recorded his songs. Born in the southern part of Sweden, Miqael grew up with a dream of making a living with his music. Playing in local bands he wrote music, toured and learned to be a better artist and songwriter. He soon moved to Stockholm to pursue his dream of being a songwriter. His first cut with another artist was the Swedish band Barbados that cut one of his country songs. Hicks' latest single is called Hayride.
Country singer ALLY MAYSON won the 2012 Ottawa Idol competition. Since then, she's recorded several songs written by writers from Nashville and Los Angeles. All of them have been produced by Eldon J. Fox and Brian Fox - and recorded at Pebble Studios in Ottawa. Her latest song is called Kiss Me Like U Mean It. On the importance of winning the 2012 singing competition, Ally says "“My favorite thing about being on Ottawa Idol was meeting new people and getting the experience to practice and play with a professional band, without that experience I would not be where I am today.”

Author Sadeqa Johnson;
Sadeqa- Love in a Carry-on Bag is finally finished! It’s been a long time coming. Can you believe I have been lugging this story around for over ten years? I’m talking about before I was married, bought a house and birthed any of my three children. I’ve worked feverishly on these characters during naptime, between feedings, in the midst of sleep deprivation with a sheer desperation to produce a story that will burn your fingers as you gobble up the pages. Trust and believe it hasn’t been easy and I’ve had to hush and crush those voices of self-doubt, fear and anxiety that kept urging me to give up, put on my Jones New York and find a job. It’s with pride that I stayed the course and after many ups and downs, false starts, agents coming and going, and almost-publishing-deals we have arrived!
Along this wonderful journey called life, I’ve also discovered the power of meditation and the importance of being Present to each moment. It’s so easy to become consumed with the ever growing to-do list in our heads and never stop to enjoy the blossoms of the tree. I’ve been leading a group meditation class for over three years and if you’ll take a look at my inspirational blog, www.sadeqajohnson.com, you will see that I’m quite candid about what I’ve been through, go through and the lessons that I’ve learned that continue to root me and lead me closer to who I really am.
Love, Light and Laughter!
This week I will be speaking to ex-volunteers about the way a certain Tennessee shelter has changed its caring ways, jumping on the band wagon of not keeping adoptable dogs around and disposing of them when its not convenient for the shelter.
Is our perception of 'life on the inside' a true reflection of how it really is?
Tune in this week to find out more.......
