Having been in the preaching ministry since a pre-teen, I've learned quite a lot and have matured even more since then. I have come to discover that young ministers (not just young in age) find it difficult to maintain a healthy spiritual, social, and educational life. I have privilege of serving as a ministry trainer now and have suggestions to those who are young in ministry or on the edge of being burned out in ministry. They are: Challenge Yourself, Question Yourself, and Respect Yourself. I'll be breaking all of those down on today's show so feel free to join in the discussion.

Life Challengers, come on in and have a seat. Class is in! Active participation is encouraged, but not required. Sharing your thoughts with comments that inspire, encourage, motivate and enlighten helps us live fuller and more satisfying lives. There is no right or wrong answers. Plan to join us on Wednesdays for the radio broadcast. Last week, it was all about Mentorship. We are the products of our environment. Many parental figures and friends encouraged, inspired, motivated and enlightened us. They were our mentors and many of them, still are! Now, it is time to reposition ourselves in life in preparation for tomorrow’s challenges. If we are not happy or satisfied with where we are in life, it is time to reposition ourselves. We still have to know what we want and what we already have, so we will know what is required from us. Hello! If we are not where we think we should be in life, what can we do that is different from what we have been doing? To reposition you, change must take place. We have to prepare by thinking about and planning the most effective course of action that will help us. Once again, look at all of your life domains (health, relationships, spirituality, employment, education, recreation and pleasure, housing, etc.) and decide if you are okay. If not, imagine what would make things better, then develop goals and attach plans to achieve them. Remember, it is not business as usual, you have to reposition yourself! Life Challengers, what have you doing, now, to get what you want, that you hadn't been doing? We need testimonies that encourage, inspire, motivate and enlighten. Please share so that others can join in on the discussion.
Life has an ebb and flow and if we're not careful, we can get tossed around by it. It can pull us down in times of challenge, and it can lift us up in times of success, but what if we started to take more control of what we pay attention to? Could we create a better life for ourselves? Could our burdens be lighter and our peak experiences be even better? Come play today as we explore the idea that we might have a better life to live and that we might have a lttle or a lot more control than we think.
This month we are diving into the mind, body, spirit triangle.
All 3 are connected and interdependent upon each other. If there is disharmony in one part it can lead to dis-ease in another part. Our thought life, our mental, or mindset is constantly under attack. Our physical bodies often display what is going on in our minds. And all of these things wears on your spirit. So this month we are focused on making improvements in how we think and what we think. We will explore detoxing, nutrition, and fitness. We will even be completing a popular 30 day fitness challenge. Please go to BAKI Facebook Page to join us. For our Spirit we will be honest with ourselves, start or deepen mediations practices, and learn to listen to our bodies. Couch Conversations is an outreach of Blessed And Know It Ministries and is hosted by our Mindset Demolition Specialist and Motivational Speaker Jasheena Shelton a.k.a. "REVJ!!" Listen as Clare Maxfield interviews Sarah Brummitt on her AICI 2015 conference presentation, Story Telling - The Language of Leadership.
The amount of information created in the world is doubling every two years and the speed of generating yet more data continues to increase. As professionals and as individuals we are overwhelmed with facts, figures, chat, charts, tweets, posts, messages, texts and emails. Our attention span is under assault as we strive to be ‘plugged in’, online, texting, emailing, posting, tweeting, blogging and messaging 24/7. What all of this means is that the challenge facing professional men and women everywhere is how to stand out, rise above, be heard, impress, persuade and motivate others against a background of all this ˜noise’. Exquisite influencers talk the language of leadership in a wide variety of professional contexts - and that means telling great stories. This session will provide you with the knowledge and tools to both deliver and coach the art, science and magic of storytelling in your business.
