  • Do You and Your Business Need A Vacation?/Guest/Project Chrysalis Foundation

    in Business

The week on #TheNetworkingDivaHour: Do you and your business need a vacation? As entrepreneurs, we spend allot of time with our businesses only to find that months or even years have gone by and we've been living startups 24/7. There is something very important about having and leading a healthy lifestyle-and no, working around the clock for all that time isn't healthy!!  This week hear the signs that you may need a vacation or break from your business now!!

My guest this week is Heidi Schaefer, Founder and Director of the Project Chrysalis Foundation. This is a non-profit organization that supports women and children recovering from abusive situations.  Listen as Heidi talks about empowering them to take the next steps to healing.  Maybe you or someone you know will benefit from hearing about this organization. WORLD WIDE AFRICA THE VOICE OF THE PAN AFRICAN MOVEMENT

    in Politics

On today August 29, 2015 in Armstrong Park there is a commemoration ceremony that I participated in for those lost in Hurricane Katrina.  It has been the most uplifting part of this day to see sisters pray together from every religion unified in the spirt of love.  This is what Huey struggled so hard to make us see that the spirt of BLACK People must transcend the petty differences in every aspect of life. That racism was a wrong way to live if you were BLACK, that we should not mimic the ways of white people. To hate for the sake of difference only, and creat an environment of hate based on those differences. These are his words and they are in reference to the attitude of one who tried to hijack the Panther Party.

"When a man is consistent, you at least know what is happening and what to expect.  Stokely says one thing one day and does another thing the next?.....Stokely told me he would support anyone he did not care who if the person were black.  We consider this viewpoint both racist and suicidal." We must learn self love and self respect for ourselves and project that attitude, not an attitude of RIGHT IS MIGHT. These are learned behaviors former slave holders gave us and we need to unlearn this. The idea that every Black Man is a thug or a criminal came from this projected idea and caused the death of many during Katrina who were shot by police and National guard troops. No other race of men has been labeled in such a way as to make the eyes of the world see us as bad people who do not deserve to live. And that is what happened to our people here in New Orleans. They sent 10 thousand body bags because the Government felt it would be easier to let people here die than to save them. It would be easier to seize their land and creat a New Orleans that did not include BLACK ETHNIC communities and rebuild as a White Utopia.

The Yehudah Project: Justice or Else! Is it a set up to destroy our people?

    in Culture

The Yehudah Project featuring Prince El Rohm offers a channel of community building and cultural enrichment, facilitating awareness, by providing a vehicle for collaborative problem solving and promoting community involvement. We encourage free exchange of information, resources, culture and critical issues. We gather and evaluate under published information and act as a resource and network for individuals, organizations and movements working on social sustainability.

It is mandated by YHWH for us to come together and pray: we are a nation of people with dual nationalities and we have to open dialog as a nation to prepare ourselves and our families for the changes that are about to happen according to the Word. Children are won through the union of the man and the woman. Let’s remember our children learn what they live!

  • Let's try This AGAIN! The Grindhouse on Afropunk, Comix & More! Sat. @6pm EST

    in Politics Conservative

*Due to the Last Show's Tech Issues and being cut short.....Let's try THIS again! Same topics (and More) REWIND!...sort of:

Howdy, folks.  We're back after an understandable pre-emption due to last weekend's legendary Afropunk Festival held at Brooklyn's Commodore Barry Park.  Check out our impressions of the event during the latest episode of Afronerd Radio's Grindhouse Mixtape airing this Saturday at 6pm EST.  Join your hosts, Dburt, Daryll B and Capt. Kirk as they discuss the following issues:  Dburt's thoughts on the escalation (and evolution) of the other Black experience commonly refered to as Afropunk; a St. Louis mother's empassioned rant critiquing the Black Lives Matter movement goes viral; futurist and entrepreneur, Elon Musk's vacuum travel project might be gaining more traction and viability; a belated hat tip to Shadow and Act for their highlighting of an upcoming film project about African American women who were NASA mathematicians during the Civil Rights era; and while films about Black genius are in development, memetic minstrelsy may get rewarded (again) with Straight Outta Compton garnering Oscar buzz (do they ever give awards that show AA communities in a good light?); DC's Vixen gets her animated closeup.  And lastly, famed director, Steve McQueen with the assistance of Hollywood iconic actor/activist, Harry Belafonte may be gearing up to make a Paul Robeson biopic (Oscar, anyone?).  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620.

In fact, because of this deep desire for peace, the ruling class leaders of this land, from 1945 on, stepped up the hysteria and propaganda to drive into American minds the false notion that danger threatened them from the East.-Paul Robeson

    Fear. (Special time 8:00 AM)

    in Jobs

    For people in transition

    FEAR

-an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

“It’s OKAY to be scared. Being scared means you’re about to do something really, really brave.”

? Mandy Hale, The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass

“If you are pained by external things, it is not they that disturb you, but your own judgement of them. And it is in your power to wipe out that judgement now.”

    ? Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

“To escape fear, you have to go through it, not around.”

? Richie Norton, Résumés Are Dead and What to Do About It

“When you're scared, you stay as you are!”

    ? Stephen Richards

"Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy."

    --Dale Carnegie

"Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering."

    --Yoda

"Decide that you want it more than you are afraid of it."

    --Bill Cosby

    Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

    Psalm 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?

    Psalm 118:6

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
