"THE BOSS ALWAYS SITS IN THE BACK"- A hysterically True Mob Story

    in Pop Culture

Wise Guy Talk Radio is proud to present my special guest Jon D Amore author of "THE BOSS ALWAYS SITS IN THE BACK"

Sunday, March 16th, 6:00-7:30 PM (Eastern Time)

The Story of Jon D’Amore’s Hysterically True Mob Past

“The Boss Always Sits In The Back” tells the story of Jon’s relationship with his cousin/Godfather Jerry. Not interested in working for one of the five New York Mafia families, Jon carves out his own path and becomes a musician. However, an invitation to spend his twenty-second birthday in Las Vegas with Jerry leads Jon to unsuspectingly become part of a scam that funnels millions of dollars out of several casinos over the next few years; a scam that would go down in history and change gambling legislation across the United States.

Later, when Jon is summoned by mob boss Rocco Casiano, his knowledge of recording techniques saves The Boss from 40 years in prison by proving the New Jersey State Police edited audio tapes. Suddenly, Jon is the honorary Godson of The Boss, and christened “TheKid.” While Jon longs to go back to his career in music, The Boss’s fears turn into paranoia, which then turns into cold-blooded murder.

“The Boss Always Sits In The Back” is a humorous, suspenseful retelling of actual events that led to the demise of the mob in New Jersey.

Turning Life Experiences into a Compelling Memoir - Guest Jon D'Amore

    in Writing

Our guest Jon D’Amore was first published at 10 when a story he’d written about the Civil War was distributed throughout the county school system. During that time, he began studying the guitar. By his 20s, having honed his love and knowledge of music, Jon was traveling cross-country as a musician.

While touring, Jon was also a feature writer for New Jersey’s 3rd largest newspaper, The Passaic Herald News, allowing him to enjoy the best of his favorite worlds…playing music and writing. Eventually, he found a different side of life. He said, “Goodbye and it’s been a slice!” to the music business and entered the corporate world. By the millennium another
change had taken place. For more than two decades, Jon knew that within him there was the desire and ability to write, so he drove to Los Angeles and started as soon as he arrived.

As an insider with no mob ambitions, Jon had been a trusted ear and learned of the life and death manipulations that made friends and relatives from his world disappear. When the smoke cleared, Jon was one of the few left standing. The others were either dead or in prison. The Boss Always Sits In The Back isn’t “just another mob story.” It reveals the demise of the mobsters who ran northern New Jersey…as told by someone who was there.

He didn’t stop until the manuscript and screenplay for The Boss Always Sits In The Back were completed. Jon has written and co-written several screenplays and articles. He still resides in California where he continues to write…and listen to music and will share what it takes to write a compelling memoir and publicize it.

    in The Bible

"And I saw when the LAMB opened one of the Seals, andI heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the 'Four Beasts' saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a WHITE HORSE and he taht sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer."

"And when He had opened the 'SECOND SEAL,' I heard the 'Second Beast' say, Come. And there went out another Horse that was RED: and power was given to hm that sate thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a GREAT SWORD."

Schools to Start Depression Screenings = Big $$$ for Big Pharma!

    in Politics

The largest school district in Minnesota is considering screening students for depression and anxiety.

This most certainly means that countless more children and teens will be the subject of a parent teacher conference where the district's psychiatrist urges the prescription of an ADHD (or ADD) medication to improve concentration, focus or happiness of the student in question.

While the screenings are supposedly aimed at preventing more student suicides, the establishment fails to inform parents that many child and teen suicides are most likely the result of the same anti-anxiety and anti-depression medications that will be pushed following the new screenings.

WND reported that the screenings are the result of Obama's executive action on gun control following Sandy Hook.  Many opponents argue that the goal is to document "mental illness" with  as many students as possible, so to later be used as a flag to prevent gun ownership.  Many call it a back door attack on the second amendment.

Even if you aren't concerned with the second amendment, you should be concerned about these drugs being forced upon children and teens across America.

    "WHAT YOU SAID HURT ME"

    in Religion

Today we will explore the wounds that we suffer as the result of what people have said about us or should I say what we believed about what someone said about us.

    Audience Question:

    1. I keep feeling the pain that my ex- husband said about me. He said that I was never a good wife and that I could not cook good and that sex with me was a horrible experience. He said that I was not a good mother and that he never even loved me and always wondered what he even seen in me. Although we are divorced now, I still hear his words echoing in my head. How do I handle this?

    2. My wife often mentions other guys from work and tells me what she like about how they dressed and look and how much money they make. She thinks it's good conversation but what she doesn't understand is that all I am hearing is that I am not measuring up to the others guys and that she may be attracted to them and not to me. I don't have a problem with changing if that is what she wants. So how should I address this with her?

    Sacred Sunday~Romans 4/God and Abraham

    in Religion

Welcome Church! We are here every Sunday to read the Bible, tell personal stories and pray together because when two or more are gathered.....In a non-judgemental down to earth format. God bless you every one! Today we are reading Romans Chapter 4!

How does Paul know all this? Because of Abraham. Remember him from way back in Genesis?Paul explains that the Bible tells us that Abraham believed in God, and because of this, God thought he was a swell guy. And it certainly wasn't because he was an awesome juggler (he wasn't). God liked Abraham because Abraham had faith in him. God is pretty big on people putting their faith in him.  Well, just remember that God was cool with Abraham before he was even circumcised. In fact, the main reason that Abraham got circumcised was to mark himself with a sign of his new relationship with God. So Abraham is basically a stand-in for everyone who has ever believed in God, but has not been circumcised. Gentile-Christians, we're looking at you. Like Abraham, no one has to work to get on God's good side. You just gotta have faith. Really, Paul says, if people could just go around doing nice things and win God's favor, then what would be the point of believing at all? When God promised Abraham that he would have lots of kids and that he would go on to be "the father of many nations," Abraham didn't doubt God. Sure, Abraham was over a hundred years old. And his wife, Sarah, was pretty much barren. But Abraham still believed it would happen. And you know what? It did. Now that's some strong believing. So there, Paul says. Faith! Abraham had faith in God's promises.  If someone believes in Jesus—that he died so that our sins could be crossed off God's ledger and that he came back to life so that we could be square with God again—then that person is a-okay by God.
