    Remember the Sabbath Day

    in Christianity

God wrote instructions for His people in stone with His own finger. What He wrote we call "The Ten Commandments". For the most part the Church teaches that only nine are valid today. Why? What scriptural basis exists for this? What does the Holy Bible really have to say about this matter? Has Satan blinded the minds of Christians on this subject?Join brother Jim in this critical teaching message about the Sabbath Day and God's expectation for the Church.

The Don S. McClure Show - Are we still just a one talent producing culture

    in Lifestyle

The Don S. McClure - Are we still just a one talent producing culture.

This image and the topic is created because one of the icons in Chicago is leaving for the betterment of her company.

And one can not blame her for wanting to continue to grow strong. But what does here leaving or why should her leaving present such a gap when we say we have many Black Millionaries, and we are a city of growth.  Yet in the Black community we are still caught in the one spot light. Where where the negotions for buying the Building or Where were the power brokers to make a new TV name for someone and give talent the chance they desire and deserve.

We do more talking about support then we do giving support. It show each Black History month when we say the same ten names and maybe add a couple of new ones.

It shows in the amount of productions we have on Tv and it shows in the amount of Directors, and Producers and those that lead and open new frontiers.

We have seen this happen time and time again in Detroit, Memphis, Chicago, Gary, and in Baltimore and Cleveland and there are more cities.

We always ask if a talent went to see those same names to help promote their dreams.

So I ask again when do we become real producers and offerreal support.

So that we break this cycle of madness.

Featured recording Artist: Goapele- Break of Dawn- Strong As Glass- My LOve - and Yeah Yeah Yeah.

Goapele returned to Oakland after her time at Berklee College of Music, where she concentrated on writing and recording songs. In 2001, she self-released her debut album, Closer, which sold 5,000 copies.

Get Noticed With TV News Style Video

    in Health

Websites with video are likely to gain ten times more potential patient visits than a website without video. However, when it comes to using video to attact aesthetic patients, most doctors are steered in the wrong direction. With over 20 years experience working in the media, Giles Raine, Vice President of TPI Media Group, explains in this exclusive interview how to create a video that combines the best methods to educate a patient, while remaining interesting, relevant and, most of all, news worthy. www.theprofessionalimage.com.

The Frugal Foodie with Host Terree Rola talks about Craft Beer in San Diego

    in Food

San Diego County has been called "the Craft Beer Capital of America," home to 97 licensed breweries & brewpubs, with 41 more in the planning stages. San Diego County's numerous internationally recognized and award-winning breweries have created a beer culture that is a draw for foodie and craft beer tourism, particularly during major festivals such as San Diego Beer Week. Launched in 2009, San Diego Beer Week is now a ten-day county-wide festival, held in early November and aimed at both local residents and tourists. In 2012 there were more than 500 events scheduled during Beer Week!

For the first part of the show, I'll be talking about the influence of craft beer and the craft breweries on the food scene in San Diego County. For the second half, I will be joined by Executive Chef Alex Carballo, Former Executive Chef for Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, who recently partnered with industry veteran, Jon Mangini, to launch URBN Coal Fired Pizza in El Cajon. He will be talking with me about how the beer culture is growing in the East County; and, about the upcoming EC Craft Beer Invitational benefiting local charities that serve adults and children with developmental disabilities and the San Diego Brewers Guild.

    EC Craft Beer Invitational
Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM (PDT)

John Carver Show - Why the Wait???

    in Religion

Maybe life’s “delays” are meant for us to exhaust every human means possible?!?!

    Eric Speir writes:
In studying the lives of these great people, I've discovered 4 reasons God makes us wait:
    1. Waiting Reveals Our True Motives
Waiting has a way of bringing out the best and worst in people. People who don't have good motives won't wait long because they're not interested in the commitment it takes to see something through. They're too interested in short-term gains or success.
Most of us have good intentions, but a lot of what we want to accomplish is an attempt to make a name for ourselves or for our own egos. It hurts to say this, but it's often true.
    2. Waiting Builds Patience In Our Lives
Patience in waiting for small things leads to having patience in the bigger things. If we can't wait for God to do a small thing, we certainly can't wait for something bigger.

    3. Waiting Builds Anticipation
Why do children get so excited around Christmas? Because the wait has produced anticipation. We tend to appreciate things the longer we have to wait for them.
    4. Waiting Transforms Our Character
Waiting has a way of rubbing off the rough edges of our lives. Most of us know the story of Moses delivering the Israelites from the Egyptians. It's a grand story of God doing great miracles.

We married in 1988 and began our family in 1998.  Those ten years were very long and painful.  There was a purpose in the waiting.  We just didn’t see it or want to see it at the time.

One of the biggest difficulties, for some, is to keep moving forward while you wait…to constantly be learning in the waiting room.

Do you take opportunities to learn something while you wait?

  • Who owns the Media and Why?

    in Entertainment

Welcome to the First Episode of The Gospel of Truth: Injecting Liberty & Freedom into the minds of man.

Do you believe your nightly news reports the truth?

Do you feel as though the media molds public opinion?

Ever feel as if the news is scripted?

Have you ever wondered if the media has an agenda?

"In 1983, fifty corporations dominated most of every mass medium and the biggest media merger in history was a $340 million deal. … [I]n 1987, the fifty companies had shrunk to twenty-nine. … [I]n 1990, the twenty-nine had shrunk to twenty three. … [I]n 1997, the biggest firms numbered ten and involved the $19 billion Disney-ABC deal, at the time the biggest media merger ever. … [In 2000] AOL Time Warner’s $350 billion merged corporation [was] more than 1,000 times larger [than the biggest deal of 1983]."

–Ben H. Bagdikian, The Media Monopoly, Sixth Edition, (Beacon Press, 2000), pp. xx—xxi

The idea of corporate media itself may not be a bad thing, for it can foster healthy competition and provide a check against governments. However, the coern is when there is a concentration of ownership due to the risk of increased economic and political influence that can itself be unaccountable.
