    The 25th Path from Yesod to Tiphareth - Temperance

    in Radio

    On Thursday November 7th, 2013 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on the Twenty-fifth Path of the Hermetic Qabalastic Tree of Life. This Path goes up the Middle Pillar from Yesod to Tiphareth and has the Tarot Trump "Temperance" attributed to it. Regardie considers it related to the Holy Guardian Angel as your guiding spirit. The astrological reference is Sagittarius and relates to an arrow shot directly upwards. The Hebrew letter is Samech and the traditional reference is "the Tentative Intelligence." Again our texts will be Gareth Knight's "Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism," and John Michael Greer's "Paths of Wisdom." So if you want to keep going up the Tree with us, tune in, close your eyes, and we'll take a shot at the Sun.

    Temperance through the Holy Spirit-extd.

    in Religion

    Greetings!  Join me, Doctor Dayciaa C. Smith, on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. CST for Divine Experience. I will mention P.O.I.s for the week, give ideas for Spiritual Summer Fun in The Sun and share healthful recipes to get your seasonal nutrional regimen off to a great start!  Also, our featured topic for the week will be talking about temperance through the Holy Spirit. From a Biblical perspective, temperance will be defined and I'll cite Biblical examples of untempered actions and resulting consequences then parallel them to modern day issues.  I'll also suggest ten tips to living more temperately, and obtaining peace and balance in your life from a temperate mindset.  There may also be a special guest to advise us on how we should pray to the Lord and ask for help and strength to become more temperate.  Tune in; you don't want to miss this special episode.

    Constant Joy Over Temporary Happiness w/ Candra Evans

    in Motivation

    I am glad to once again have Candra on the show to join in on this topic. Because she is a Christian married woman, I am sure that she has come across times when she needed to cling to that heavenly joy. The enemy is always trying to steal the joy of those who are walking after God. I look forward to hear what the Holy Spirit will lay on her heart in regards to joy.

    One of the things I have learned throughout my walk with God is the huge difference between temporary happiness and constant joy. Happiness tends to based on circumstances around us and it is generally an emotion we feel. However, the Holy Spirit offers us a joy that is unexplainable. We can experience this heavenly joy and peace regardless of what is going on in our lives. We can have a meek spirit that is calm because we can be assured that God is in control and everything is already taken care of. Each day I strive to be closer and closer to this goal.

    So many people are constantly searching for that happiness and many times in things that only offer temporary satisfaction. We all naturally have voids that we need to be filled and God is the only one who can truly fill them. I pray that through this show someone will be blessed and will accept the joy that God glady gives to those who choose to follow him.

    Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

    Galatians 5:22-25 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

    The greatest and most precious promises of God

    in Christianity

    Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

    And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

    And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

    And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

    For if these things be in you, and abound, they make {you that ye shall} neither {be} barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. {barren: Gr. idle}

    But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

    Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

    For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1: 4-11
