Did you know that young people age 12 to 19 experience the highest rate of rape and sexual assault? And teenagers ages 18 to 19 experience the highest rate of stalking? Or, how about approximately 1 in 3 adolescent girls in the United States is a victim of physical, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner?
This is the age when young people develop their own ideas about what is and what is not appropriate relationship behavior -- Don't let these statistics become the acceptable definition.

Sabrina and her special guest, Annette Sober, licensed substance abuse counseler, discuss, "teen suicide is a growing health concern. It is the third-leading cause of death for young people ages 15 to 24, surpassed only by homicide and accidents, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention", as reported by the American Psychological Association in 2014.
On December 3, 12-year-old Ronin Shimizu, a former 6th grader enrolled at Folsom Middle School, committed suicide after schoolmates had bullied him for being a cheerleader.
According to the CDC, suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year.
Bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, according to studies by Yale University.
A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying
10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide, according to the study above
According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30 percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying, and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of fear of bullying
Anonymous Alerts® is a tool which enables students to quickly report bullying, cyberbullying, depression, family problems, drug and alcohol abuse, gang-related issues, sexual harassment, guns/weapons in schools, theft/vandalism or unusual student behavior which may warrant immediate attention by school officials. The system is simple and secure for students and school officials.

Join me as Haines, Founder of Stomp Out Suicide Sean Haines shares the experience of how his daughter's sucide is reaching others.
Stom Out Suicide was created out of love and hope in memory of Alissa M. Haines of Wyoming, MN. Stomp Out Suicide is a local organization dedicated to the prevention of suicide through public awareness and community outreach. Our goal is to educate and increase discussion about suicide prevention and awareness.
Suicide occurs most often in those who suffer from mental illnesses. Depression is the most common mental illness. Depression is not just a bad mood or a phase; it is a serious medical condition. In most cases depression and other mental illnesses can be treated, but the problem needs to be diagnosed by a professional. Suicide can have lasting harmful effects on individuals, families, and communities. While its causes are complex and determined by multiple factors, the goal of suicide prevention is simple: Reduce factors that increase risk, and increase factors that promote resilience.
One of the most important aspects of suicide prevention is support. The person who is struggling needs to know that you support and love him or her, and that you are willing to help them find hope in life again. Our goal at Stomp Out Suicide is to reach others like Alissa, and to prevent this tragedy from happening to people like her. Most 25 year old singer/song writers would be putting in All they have for their final push for a major label deal. After all, they usually snatch the singer when they’re younger. Not this one. Elizabeth Langham is doing the music to simply Create, Inspire and bring Positive vibes into people’s ears.
‘Too many people get caught up in the money making aspect of the industry and completely disregard why they even started to do music in the first place. Money is appealing, but I’d rather perform for free and inspire someone than to get caught up in the Diva role.’ –Elizabeth Langham
